I helped scale Wurkr from 0 to 50,000 users and $1.2M raised. At Teemyco, I built early partnerships and now help shape an AI meeting assistant people might actually use. At Secret Source, I rebuilt the GTM strategy and pricing model. At Na’amal Agency, I spend a couple of days a week building out delivery systems with refugee tech talent.

Earlier this month, I was invited to attend another edition of World Travel Market (WTM) London. It was great to see familiar faces and sit down with several tourism boards to talk about my travels and the collabs I am working on as the fulltime backpacker. A few themes kept coming up in almost every conversation 👇

👉 Travel is shifting from ‘see more’ to ‘feel more’. People want slower and deeper, more meaningful trips that give them room to breathe, reflect and connect

👉 As AI-generated content floods the internet, travellers are becoming more selective about whom they trust. They are looking for sources that feel real and grounded

👉 Experiences now matter more than itineraries. Most people do not want a checklist of things to tick off. They want to feel something. The destinations that invest in honest storytelling are the ones that stand out

👉 Sustainability is still talked about everywhere, yet the gap between talk and action remains wide. Travellers are paying closer attention to their impact, and they can see through the green gloss. Places like Klinci Village Resort in Montenegro are showing what that looks like in practice, hosting stays that genuinely follow sustainable principles

👉 AI is becoming a helpful assistant in travel. Many companies are automating the heavy lifting, like data crunching and customer service, so their teams can focus on creativity, hospitality and genuine human connection

👉 In many developing destinations, only about a third of tourism revenue stays in the local community. The rest leaks out to foreign-owned hotels, airlines and tour operators. This raises a fair question about the blanket narrative that all tourism is good for locals. The challenge lies in finding a balance that supports both tourist comfort and local prosperity. 👉 Following on from the above, travellers want to support local people directly. The destinations that collaborate with residents rather than build over them are the ones that leave a lasting impact. A great example is the work Tanja Polegubic and Digital Nomad Association Croatia have done with regional tourism boards across the country

Who’s in town for SaaStr.ai this week?

Glad I took this shot over the weekend instead of today 😅☔️

This was a fun experiment 🧪

A few weeks ago, I met my friend Patrick Schüller for dinner. At some point, while discussing vibe coding, he asked if I knew how many people had viewed or were using the apps I built with Claude.

“Just north of 120 views and around 17 active users that I've heard from for the last one”, I said.

 “Nice. Have you thought about adding some ad space?”

 “That’s a good idea”, I replied as a lightbulb went off in my head.

So I went ahead and did it. The next app I launched was a UTM Link Generator, and I added a CTA at the bottom that linked to Leadfeeder’s (by Dealfront) landing page. It felt like an 'organic' inclusion because the app solves a problem that Dealfront’s marketing buyer persona runs into all the time.

I added UTM tags to the CTA so I could track everything in my own Leadfeeder dashboard. A few days later, conversions started rolling in 🙂
