Clean Line Energy Partners

Clean Line Energy developed interstate electric transmission lines and successfully permitted the largest transmission line in the U.S. in the last 50 years.

I developed and executed communication campaigns and strategies to bring awareness and build support for Clean Line’s transmission line projects. I provided strategic communication counsel to executives, oversaw the development of all project communication deliverables, created events to generate coverage and worked directly with reporters from The New York times, The Wall Street Journal, The Economist and The Houston Chronicle on feature pieces as well as hundreds of stories in regional and trade publications.

Public Affairs Manager

I managed state regulatory applications, developed project schedules and budgets, met with local leaders and organized public meetings to further the development of the Grain Belt Express Clean Line. The 780-mile long project received state regulatory approvals in Kansas, Missouri, Illinois and Indiana and was sold to Invenergy in 2018.

As a part of this work, I successfully managed a 355-page application to the Illinois Commerce Commission for certificate of public convenience and necessity. I analyzed Illinois statute and
relevant cases to outline requirements for filing and to develop a strategy for meeting
requirements to become a utility in the state. As a part of this, I led paid and earned media campaigns from idea phase to execution, including press releases and required newspaper ads prior to a series of 27 public meetings across Illinois.
