I worked 74 hrs this week
Onboarded 74 new clients 
I’m so delirious I’m eating a 🥕 

Because my brain won’t allow me to pick want to eat lol.

Heres what happened internally in our company

1) We dropped our price by 72% and had like 1 BAZZILION leads DM me, reply to my emails, and send me carrier pigeons to join our program 

2) My Community Managers Tayla, Samanta and Olivia had like 10x 1:1 onboarding’s. I’m taking them out for a VERY expensive lunch soon to say thanks.

3) TODAY I spent 5 hrs onboarding 73 people into our program. That was after I left my house at 5.45am to pick my brother, his wife, and my nephew from the airport. 

4) I re recorded our entire program for the 4th time. I’ll be recording all through the weekend also. Honestly I’m so proud of the content though.

5) My Co-Founder Steve Butler  finally released our 2x SaaS — GrowthMode and LinkNinja. Custom software new clients get for FREE in our program.

We also had a record week making $110,000.

But thats not even close to the best thing

Which was seeing how EXCITED all our new clients are to be part of our program.

Honestly, all I want to do is seeing clients win.

As really, it’s the only thing that matters.

Companies hiring in December are the ones you WANT to work for.

Here’s why most reps get this backwards.
Everyone thinks December and January are “dead months” for sales.

So they wait until next year to start their hunt.
Big mistake.

The companies hiring NOW are the ones with:
	•	Extra cash in the bank
	•	Aggressive growth targets
	•	Strategic thinking

They KNOW December and January are quiet.
That’s exactly why they’re hiring.
They can afford for you to ramp over the slow period…

So you hit the ground running when things pick up in February.

Now compare that to companies waiting until February to hire:

They’re cash-strapped.
They can’t afford two “down months.”
They need you productive YESTERDAY.

So what does this tell you?

Where would you rather build your career?

It's been ages since I was in the back seat of a car that wasn't an Uber.

Meeting Adem Manderovic and George Coudounaris in person was like seeing old friends—except we'd never actually met before.

I saw Kieran Krohn for the first time too, and we've done some solid projects together!

Meeting Nathan Clark was awesome. I have a lot to learn from this guy.

I joke with everyone about being a recluse and not liking people, but there's something about spending time with people in person that simply cannot be achieved any other way. 

I think I'm going to do it more! Lili Perez - I need you to hold me accountable on this.

As with every week, this one was filled with ups and downs.

Fantastic week for business development (we loaded above average new deals)
Fantastic week for closed won deals
Fantastic week for team wins (one got their first deal with us)
Fantastic week personally (Delilah had her first school camp)
Fantastic week socially (I got to hang out with some awesome new people)

I could list another ten things—like hanging out with the Firmable team, the Earlywork crew, the Clay crew (Lele, Ben, Matt and the awesome community), and winning the majority of my pickleball games.

But it's not all bells and whistles.

We had a new hire find a dream opportunity one week before starting with us. That leaves us a "man down". I guess it's exciting having capacity on the team for someone awesome, but it still puts the pressure on existing members to keep up with demand.

Overall, seeing all these people just leaves my bucket full. I guess I'm not as introverted as I pretend to be.

Three things I would do differently if starting my career in sales now

1: I would master one tool - Clay

Clay is no longer a nice to have. It has been validated as the industry standard for GTM Automation. 

Yes other tools can do chunks of it, but there are only two reasons to use alternatives. 

An alternative might be slightly cheaper (and have all the compromises to prove it) or it might be slightly easier (and lack the capability to prove it) - either way, there is no denying Clay is just better! 

More importantly, there is a way for it to help at every stage of the sales cycle, and with companies in every revenue range. 

2: I would build my credentials in partnership development

Partnerships is the single best channel to cut through the noise we experience in GTM today. Going through an existing relationship where trust is already established is the greatest hack there is. This is only going to become more important as AI makes trusting anything harder.

3: I would spend more time honing my skills. 

I would train my skills like an athlete. Discovery, Deal Management, Negotiations. I wish I had invested in training sooner. 
Controversially, I'm starting to think I might suggest my kids don't go to university unless they want a specific profession that requires it.

Lili Perez has built what I can only describe as the best sales training environment around - where was this when I was trying to become a master.

Here is the thing about interviews. People act like they know. 
But there is a difference between knowing.... and knowing

Dressing in the meme, does not mean understadning it. You might assume I do, but nah.

When asked by other parents what it was all about, my explanation sounded plausible. Was it accurate? Maybe...
I knew more than them, so they believed me.

When you interview your next marketing hire. How the heck do you know if they actually know their stuff? 

You ask them their ideas... you love them
You ask them what they have done for others. You love their answer
You ask them endless questions, all sounding good 

But you will not know

But if a true marketing professional was to dive in... They would know if this person knew their stuff or not

I am assuming first marketing hires are just as unlucky as first marketing hires? 

Would I be right? 



P.S: We are turning our focus to what will be the best insurance policy in hiring history - the 30/60/90 day probation plan. A simple way to hire professionals and validate everything claimed on the box. Maybe we call it the FIFO warranty?

I have been working on ONE BIG THING a day. 
If I could only make one phone call today. Only one. And could do nothing else. What call would I make?

Extreme prioritisation 

But this is not something most reps are taught

Sales managers need to help their team, who all have different relationships with time (Hello my fellow ADHD peeps). 

In fact, one of the hardest challenges, and certainly the most frustrating challenges most sales leaders face is getting their team to do the right work in the right time

Of the over 60 certifications that we issue, I think having leaders validate reps time management skills is one of the most impactful

We used to call 'Agile' project management "Fragile" - because most teams could not implement it correctly. 

So what about MEDDIPCC?

Do companies implement it correctly?

Execs Decision Speed = Quick

Yesterday I sent a long email to an exec and it felt dirty. I felt like I was violating an unspoken rule. 

"Dont take up my time with extra unnecesary info. Give me the executive summary"

But executive summaries are an art. They are deliberately short whislt maintain all vital information 

I chose to get this exec something quickly, rather than spending the time I would usually have better structuring it with fewer words.

As Blaise Pascal write in 1657 "I have made this longer than usual because I have not had time to make it shorter" 

Im reading a. new book (not yet launched) that I will share next week. It is all about keeping it short to cut through the noise in this busy world. 

Anyone else noticed this?
