A little about me...

I'm an investor, entrepreneur, restaurant owner and explorer of 99 countries. I host the Try Life On Podcast, and coach professional 1:1 on wealth and freedom, helping you build lifestyle you don’t need vacation from.

In 2021 I retired from the 9-5 world after 25 years as Senior Executive at Accenture, a global consulting firm. Was also a Federal Agent through my US Air Force military service. I retired after 22 years as Lt. Colonel. And I became a midnight police officer later in life for the Montgomery County Police Department as a means to give back to local community. Yes, all at the same time.

Along with partners, founded Quattro Capital, a private equity firm. I’ve acquired roughly $250M in real estate with investor partners. I started buying real estate in my 20s as a means to capture time freedom to live more. 

I have strong passion for living life leveraging freedom principles (time, financial, location, purpose & relationships) and started Try Life On Media to help others do the same. The Try Life On podcast and speaking engagements are my joy.

My project at Tandem Health began during the Covid lockdown. As my wife and aspiring author set out to self publish her first book and create a website. •	Led a cross functional team of formatters, copywriters, and artists to ensure first pass yield of physical products.

•	Conducted market analysis for the reduction printing costs and warehousing.

Although I was only briefly employed I was accepted into the Trade Act program which has enabled me to pursue my bachelors degree while laid off.

My time at Sea-Bird was invaluable in the crafting of my career. Sea-Bird believes very strongly in creating your career within the company. As leadership changes happened my role was extended to Acting Supervisor for an adjacent department. As well as becoming the Scrum Master for projects within my departments. This allowed me to work cross functionally with Product Management, R&D,  Technical Customer Support, Sales, and Operations. 

Highlights of my achievements:
•	Collaborated with my product manager and R&D to bring new product configurations to market. These two configurations had the capability to add 40% and 100% life expectancy to the product.
•	Used root cause analysis to address a customer stop ship issue, reducing return rate by 75%. 
•	Designed automated testing fixtures for troubleshooting telemetry issues, reducing repair times by 80%.
• Initiated kaizen events to reduce bottlenecks in functional testing and increased final test output by 100%.

Production Team Lead (Acting Supervisor/Scrum Master)

As the production lead for my department, I was responsible for overseeing the production of two teams involved with the building and repair of autonomous instruments. As well as creating shipping schedules and setting department KPI's. The teams I led produced autonomous floats with an array of Sea-Bird sensors for the ARGO community and a wide array of government agencies. These floats are deployed around the world and produce some of the leading data on climate change being produced today
My key duties and responsibilities included but were not limited to:

• Creation and administration of manufacturing BOM's. 
• Responsible for interviewing, hiring and training new employees in a fast paced, production environment.
• Acted as administrator for Oracle transactions, inventory management, and shipping for teams in my cells.
• Utilized LEAN production principals to increase efficiency in both manufacturing and testing of our autonomous floats.
• Attended formal training in Lean manufacturing (Toyota method), 6 Sigma, and 5 Whys root cause analysis

As a Production Technician I was trained to manufacture and repair robotic marine instruments for the Navis department. This  product line gave me practical experience in electronics, hydraulics and pressure systems, ballasting, and telemetry. As well as insights into shipping, logistics, and lean manufacturing.

At Panasonic I was a team builder and outside the box thinker who helped to create and lead production lines to reduce company turn times by building creating assembly lines with existing company capital, leveraging existing data, and training product specific teams.

• Created automated Oracle templates for repair transactions, reducing training time in my department. 
• Implemented an assembly line with existing capital for a difficult legacy unit. This line went from a large backlog to producing 40% of the repair station volume.
•	Worked with my repair operations manager and supervisor to coordinate work for and create new repair teams. 
• Mentored local and international repair technicians on best practices and LEAN principles.

During my time at Soundair Aviation I was a member of a new product team whose revenue added over 2 million dollars to quarterly revenue and grew to become one of the larger teams within the company.

I was responsible for detailed: inspection, testing, troubleshooting, and repairing of life critical oxygen masks that were supplied to airlines around the world. This process also included continuous maintenance manual and service bulletin review.
