Contec provides circular rubber and plastic solutions that deliver low-carbon-footprint products such as  recovered carbon black, oil, and steel from waste tires. We enable our partners to decarbonise their supply chains and contribute to a sustainable future, using recovered carbon black as a feedstock. 

Contec has been fully involved in a patented pyrolysis technology development using molten salts as a heat transfer. From the R&D and engineering of the technology to the waste management and feedstock quality checks, we currently operate our Szczecin plant at full capacity, and aim to expand it by the end of 2024. 

We strive for the highest quality of low-carbon footprint products, from recovered carbon black to rubber granulates, always with plant safety, process efficiency, and collaboration in mind.

I have been working on Waste Tyres Pyrolysis Project since early research and earned priceless experience while being involved in all the stages of Project including startup. As one of two process engineers I am responsible for:
- choosing technological apparatus and taking part in evaluating offers
- consulting design of made-to-measure equipment
- conducting process simulations and mass-energy balances
- preparing and coordination of works regarding technical documentation especially in technological and process control and automation fields
- cooperation with other specialists such as electricians, PLC software developers, mechanical engineers, piping and welding teams
- conducting startup of the pilot installation
- taking part in project promotion activities
- cost optimization of equipment and apparatus leading to substantial savings for company
- inventing several new technological solutions to improve effectiveness of the installation

Process Engineer

Warsaw University of Technology

Conducting research in field of waste tyres pyrolysis, GC analysis of post-pyrolitic oils, microGC analysis of gases produced during pyrolysis, maintenance of pyrolysis reactor, introducing self-designed and made adsorber based on zinc oxide to protect microGC from hydrogen sulfide. Scaling up laboratory process up to 30kg in one batch. First successful trials of desulfurisation of post-pyrolitic oils using ultrasound promoted selective oxidation.

Learning about and taking tour around undermentioned installations: methane reforming, ammonia, urea, analytical laboratories, phosphoric acid, sulfuric acid, titanium dioxide, fertilizers, water treatment, water demineralisation.

As CEO and CTO at Contec, I’m responsible for advancing our pyrolysis technology, as well as building the Contec brand, driving collaboration and innovation to improve the reach and usability of recovered Carbon Black products. 

I have expertise in Chemical & Process Engineering and a background in R&D from my time at Warsaw University of Technology and Grupa Azoty. My focus is to grow Contec on all levels - R&D and engineering of the technology as well as the product quality control and organisational side.

As an innovative and open-minded person, I enjoy collaborating with others in my industry to solve some of the biggest challenges in the sector, and sharing my sustainability expertise in podcasts and events such as Impact Zero and the Recovered Carbon Black Conference.

I believe that carbon-neutral, circular solutions will transform the manufacturing industry. Strong leadership and innovation will be important to advancing this vision, and Contec is an important enabler in making that happen too. We’re contributing to a waste-free world, and I’m happy to be part of that journey!
