One of the best pieces of advice Arjun Pillai once shared about building an AI company. "Token prices drop 10x every 12 months."

When you're building an AI company, you have to think in trend lines.
The real question isn't what models can do today.

It's this:
If LLMs become cheaper, does your company become more efficient?
If LLMs become smarter, does your product become dramatically better?

Or do the models eventually replace what you built?

A lot of startups are running into this exact problem right now.

They built products that sit very close to the model layer. When model companies ship new capabilities, entire categories become fragile overnight.

We've already seen this happen multiple times. A single release from Anthropic release can compress years of product differentiation. 
The companies that survive usually have something deeper.

Context.

Another way to think about this is the difference between input-first systems and context-first systems.

Input-first systems require you to tell the system what to do.

Write a prompt.
Describe the task.
Explain the problem.

Website builders, code generation tools, and content tools all start with input. And anything heavily dependent on input becomes easier for foundation models to absorb over time.

But the moment something is already running in production, the problem becomes very different.

Now you're dealing with service dependencies, deployment history, previous incidents, system architecture, and hidden infrastructure assumptions.

Most teams don't have this fully documented. It usually lives as tribal knowledge inside a few engineers' heads.

Which means every time something breaks, teams have to reconstruct the system, trace dependencies, and figure out what actually changed before attempting a fix.

This is exactly why AI SRE is such an interesting space.

Because incident resolution isn't just about analyzing logs.

It's about understanding the entire system. How services connect, what the blast radius looks like, and what fixes have worked historically.

That's the layer we're betting on with Scoutflo.

Over the last 3 weeks, a lot of SREs and DevOps engineers reached out with recommendations, ideas, and even playbooks they've built internally.

So instead of building this quietly, we want to build it with the community.

We're opening up a Slack community where engineers can collaborate, share incident learnings, review playbooks, and help shape this into something that's actually useful in real production environments.
