I got rejected for every single trading job I applied for.

I didn’t have the right qualifications and I didn’t know where to start.

In fact, people laughed when I said I wanted to become an investor because at the time I was a broke graduate.

However, I took a risk and signed up for a trading seminar in London. I got the overnight bus from Cologne.

The seminar was basic but it taught me two key concepts:

1. Those who are disciplined make money
2. Trading is scalable and gains are exponential

It got me started on my path. I realised that the opportunity to trade for a living was there if I worked for it. 

That week, I cashed out my small tracker fund and maxed out the biggest loan I could from Deutsche Bank. 

It went straight into my trading account.

And since December 13th 2016, I’ve been trading the markets for a living. 

I love learning about new companies and technologies, finding out why stocks move, and how to extract profits from financial markets.

My goal is to trade full time and have investments in a number of businesses.

As a Senior Market Analyst, I've ascended to a managerial role, leading direct reports and serving as the primary project lead. My responsibilities have expanded to include people management, team skill development, and fostering cross-team collaboration to achieve collective goals.

I have been involved in various projects, including due diligence, competitor analysis, total addressable market projections, and title unit sales and revenue forecasts. I also present our trends and forecasts to leading companies within the video games industry. These responsibilities have further enriched my experience and expertise in market analysis and public speaking.

My role as a project manager has allowed me to unearth creative solutions to client challenges, harnessing a wealth of data to craft exceptional outcomes. I'm passionate about sharing my enthusiasm and excitement for projects with my colleagues. My attributes include analytical prowess, collaborative spirit, persistence, a continuous drive for improvement, and creative problem-solving skills.

Senior Market Analyst

When I started, I faced a significant challenge when the senior analyst left, requiring a rapid knowledge transfer. 
I displayed the ability to work autonomously, proactively seek improvements, and learn new skills on the job.

Responsibilities included financial data collection and analysis, Excel-based forecasting models, insights for trend pieces, and addressing client inquiries.

My role as a Market Analyst coincided with Newzoo's transition from a startup to a scale-up. This allowed me to specialize in areas like the console gaming market and revamp our forecasting models.  After mastering Excel, I refined my SQL and Tableau skills, improving my analytical capabilities.

I honed my presentation skills to communicate effectively with clients. Moreover, I gained coaching experience by sharing knowledge with colleagues and operating as a (co)-project lead for custom client projects.

Market Analyst

I am an experienced data analyst with over six years in the field, dedicated to unraveling complex data challenges. My Excel, SQL, and Tableau proficiency allows me to extract meaningful insights, shape compelling narratives, and translate data into actionable strategies. I am particularly interested in financial analysis, market sizing, and global gaming market forecasting.

I serve as a project lead within our consulting team, managing teams of up to five individuals. This role requires a diverse skill set encompassing project management, data analysis, critical thinking, presentation design, and delivery. My projects typically involve market sizing, due diligence, and in-depth explorations of topics like user-generated content and game content strategies.

I am equally comfortable working independently as I am collaborating within a team. I find fulfillment in mentoring and sharing my knowledge with junior team members, whether as a project manager or a direct manager.
