The vote on the EU's Chat Control bill has been delayed, but its supporters will keep trying to get it passed. The proposed bill is a major attack against privacy and part of a troubling, concerted, and ongoing effort to rollback personal freedoms in Europe. Such legislation should never see the light of day.

Nice primer on rare earths here from Ed Conway. REEs aren't actually all that rare. It's the regulations around mining and refining (and the byproducts of that refining) REEs that keep production levels low in the West. That's going to have to change asap. ⛏️
