I joined Claremount in December 1998 as a trainee chartered accountant, becoming a student of Institute of Chartered Accountants in Ireland and fulfilling my training contract in June 2003, having qualified as a chartered accountant in November 2002. After qualifying, I became an associate member of the Institute and my career progressed within Claremount, rising from position of supervisor to assistant manager and eventually becoming client and practice manager in March 2005. My role involved the overall management of the practice, a team of 15 staff and 300+ clients. In 2010 I made the decision to move into public practice with my own firm. I left Claremount in June 2010 to start my own accounting firm, K Phelan & Company.

I joined PwC Derry (formerly Price Waterhouse) in September 1995 straight out of college after A-Levels. I was employed as trainee accounting technician and studied for 2 years under the Institute of Accounting Technicians in Ireland, qualifying as Accounting Technician in May 1997. I continued my career with PwC during the merger with Coopers, employed as Business Technician and heavily involved with running their Small Business department in Derry, preparing year end accounts, tax/VAT returns and company audits for approximately 200 clients. I decided to further my career as a chartered accountant and left PwC in November 1998 to take up a chartered accountancy training contract with another local firm. The experience and business acumen gained working with PwC during these early years of my career would prove invaluable throughout the years ahead working in accounting practice and eventually setting up and running my own firm.

Hi!  My name is Kieran Phelan and I am the founder and CEO of Satori Accounting. 

In 2010, I broke the mould in our profession by becoming the first Xero Advisor in Northern Ireland and founding the first ever cloud accounting firm in Northern Ireland.

Since then I have been at the forefront of the cloud accounting scene here, bringing the latest and greatest cloud tech to small businesses to help them #makemoremoney and #savetime with #bettersystems giving them #peaceofmind 

I have helped the accounting profession in Ireland to embrace the new digital age we live in, taking part in Xero's roadshow events and giving talks to Chartered Accountants Ireland to share knowledge on digitalisation and cloud accounting tools.

I am also a member of the advisory panel of The Digital Accountancy Show in London, a brand new accounting conference featuring the top tech and advisors in our industry.

In 2019, I was nominated as Top 5 Finalist in the Accounting Web Accounting Excellence Awards as Practice Pioneer of the Year and our company was a top 3 finalist in Xero's annual awards as a 100% Xero firm.

In March 2021 we were awarded Xero's UK Small Firm of the Year.

We focus on helping small business owners to measure and monitor their key financial metrics ,helping their business to be profitable and sustainable . We look at your personal financial goals first before working with SME's on their business numbers to implement strategies to help achieve your goals.
