At 18, I left home to study Biomed at uni, whilst my mum was fighting cancer.
At 19, I failed every exam at university. Retakes all summer. 
At 20, I stood up to present to 10 people and completely froze. 
At 21, I started a fitness business and couldn't sell a £39 programme. 
At 22, I coached CEOs during the week & drunk myself silly on weekends. 
At 23, I moved to Dubai for the first time. Knew nobody. Started from zero. 
At 25, my mum passed away. It turned my world upside down, but gave me an entirely new & deeply philosophical perspective on life.
At 25, I started 2 new businesses, failed & continued using my pain as fuel. 
At 27, Moved back to Dubai & overcame my lifelong fear of public speaking by getting a paid gig with PwC Middle East.
At 30, I built a six-figure coaching business for founders, CEOs & leaders, and spoke at global companies monthly.

At 31, I will be waking up in Thailand, who knows what will happen there 🤷‍♂️ 

Throughout all of it - failed businesses, lost money, rock bottom moments, grief, self-doubt, anxiety, I came back stronger every time I faced hardship.

The desert race where I quit at 80km and came back barefoot. 
The deep coaching sessions that showed me things I spent years avoiding. 
The businesses that flopped & forced me to look inward instead of outward.

None of it was wasted.
It got me to where I am today.

I still fail. Every week. In small ways and occasionally in big ones.
The difference now is I fail faster, learn quicker, and carry it lighter.

I've stopped making failure mean something about my worth.

It doesn't mean you're not good enough. 
It means you're building something ambitious enough.

The only real failure is the lesson you didn't apply & the risk you didn't take.

I've never felt like a failure more than when I failed to sell a £39 product.
Not a £10,000 programme.

thirty nine pounds man.

And I couldn't figure out why.

I just felt like an utter failure, looking at everyone else making serious money in their coaching businesses.

I had the offer, the value, the programme… I'd spent weeks creating this entire system. I launched it…into the abyss….hahaha.

My first instinct was to blame others not seeing the value in me. 
The timing. The algorithm. The economy perhaps.

Anything but the truth.

The truth was what i didn’t want to see...

That I didn't believe in myself.

And I didn’t realise you can’t sell from that place. No funnel in the world fixes a broken self-concept.

I've since invested six figures across mentors, masterminds and programmes trying to fix my realise my own capability and work on my mindset. 

Here's what I actually found:
→ The marketing wasn't the problem. My identity was.
 → I was searching for external certainty to fix an internal problem. 
→ Decision paralysis was just fear of rejection.

The moment I started doing the inner work - behaviour change, NLP, hypnotherapy courses & mentorships - everything changed.

I now coach leaders at PwC, Jumeirah Group, Lotus Cars & 30+ companies. 

I've worked with 100s of founders individually.
And the business is making a comfortable 6-figures.

From someone who couldn’t sell £39, I’m pretty happy with the progress.

It didn’t blossom because I found the secret to business.
I thrive now because I finally stopped looking for the solution outside of myself.

And started looking inward.

The strategy was never the issue. It was always the person executing it.

Here's what I've learned about why habits actually fail - and what to do instead:
Most people try to force behaviour change. 
But the mind always defaults back to what matches its current self-image.

You can force a new routine for a few weeks. 
But if it conflicts with who you believe you are, it won't last.
This is the part no one talks about.

1. Identity comes before behaviour 
↳ Habits only stick when they match who you think you are. 
↳ The question isn't "how do I stay consistent?" It's "who am I being?"

2. The mind negotiates before it quits 
↳ It doesn't collapse. It reasons. It makes stopping feel intelligent. 
↳ Recognising that voice - without obeying it - is the real skill.

3. Information is not the gap 
↳ Most people already know what to do. 
↳ The gap is between knowing and being the kind of person who does it.

4. Discipline is effort against resistance 
↳ When identity and behaviour are aligned, resistance disappears. 
↳ You don't need more willpower. You need less internal conflict.

5. Identity changes through evidence, not affirmations 
↳ Every small action is a vote for or against a self-image. 
↳ Stack enough votes, the story changes. The behaviour follows.

The deepest shift I've seen in the people I work with is when they stop trying to force a new behaviour onto an old identity - and start asking who they're becoming instead.

How to build habits that stick

The most dangerous place I've been in business wasn't rock bottom: 
It was the moment I thought I'd made it.

There's a version of me that had it all figured out.
That version was also the most lost I've ever been.

I've been at stages in my life where my confidence & momentum were so real, the results were coming in fast. 

It made me stop questioning & listening to myself

And guess what? 
I paid for it.

Like most of the high achievers that I work with, in this place, thinking you have it all figured out leads to distractions, egotistical decisions, and vulnerability that you wouldn't want.

You end up thinking you don't need help or guidance & you start chasing things for even more status.

The subtle version of ego is the most dangerous because it just looks like you're doing well...It can look like "confidence". 

It looks like "I've done the work, I know how this goes."

What therapy and deep coaching eventually showed me:

→ Chasing certainty was a defence mechanism, letting go of control led to bigger results than "drive" ever did.
→ Self-leadership started when I learnt to quiet the mind & detach from ego.
→ Every ceiling I hit was built from the inside - not the outside.
→ The clients I help most are the ones who've achieved everything and still feel something's off

I started my first business at 21.
I grew it with the wrong beliefs for years before I realised what was actually holding me back.

Here are the 8 beliefs I had to unlearn to grow MindsetX to multi-6-figures - and why unlearning them changed everything:

Most founders think the ceiling is external. 
A bad market. Bad timing. Not enough capital.

In my experience, the ceiling is almost always internal. 
It's the beliefs you inherited and never chose to examine.

Here's what I had to let go of:

Motion equals progress 
↳ I confused activity with advancement. I was busy on all the wrong things. 
↳ Busyness feels like progress. It rarely is.

More effort always wins 
↳ I believed force was the answer. Pareto proved otherwise. 
↳ 80% of results come from 20% of efforts. Growth comes from removing what's in the way.

Certainty before action 
↳ I waited for clarity that never arrived. 
↳ The path doesn't reveal itself until you start walking it.

Opportunity is always good 
↳ I said yes to everything. It made me busier than I could handle. 
↳ As you grow, you need to say no more than you say yes.

Visibility equals value 
↳ I thought being everywhere mattered. 
↳ Attention without intention is just distraction disguised as strategy.

Independence is strength 
↳ I wore self-reliance like armour. 
↳ The right people accelerate everything. I learned this too late.

Success requires sacrifice 
↳ I thought I had to burn everything else to build something meaningful. 
↳ I found a way to systemise my life so I could build without neglecting what mattered.

Control guarantees success 
↳ I held on too tight - to money, decisions, ideas, everything. 
↳ When I realised that flow and alignment produce better results than control and force, I started to let go.

The deepest shift wasn't strategic. 
It was the moment I stopped relating to my business from fear and started building from clarity.

8 beliefs I have to unlearn

I just turned 31. Here are 31 things 10 years of coaching, self-development, failure & grief taught me [that I wish I knew sooner].

1. You are not broken. You are running an outdated version of yourself.
2. The problem was never discipline. You cannot become what you have not yet decided to be.
3. Behaviour follows identity. Change who you are first.
4. The ceiling you keep hitting is about what you believe you deserve.
5. The voice that says you are not ready has confused familiarity with safety.
6. The mind protects whoever you were when the "wound" was created.
7. Most self-sabotage is self-protection from a threat that no longer exists.
8. The mind you have is simply the one you've built "so far".
9. Grief doesn’t mess up your life. It becomes part of it. 
10. Questions will change your life. I lost my mum at 25. I didn’t ask her enough questions. So I’ll make sure I ask myself the right ones.
11. The mind needs meaning more than comfort.
12. Grief taught me; Chasing what others/society want for you is pointless.
13. Seeing yourself clearly is the most liberating thing a human being can do.
14. The hardest [but best] coaching for me received was someone holding up a mirror and refusing to allow me to look away.
15. The day I began to know myself, the right people got closer & the wrong ones fell away.
16. Stillness terrified me because it meant facing questions I was avoiding.
17. Confidence is not a feeling. It is a relationship you build with yourself.
18. Fear rarely means stop. It usually means you are about to grow.
19. There is ambition driven by potential. And ambition driven by the fear of not being enough. I ran on the second one for years.
20. High performance isn't doing more. It's removing what's keeping you stuck.
21. You can succeed by every external measure and still feel hollow.
22. I did not have a motivation problem. I had a meaning problem.
23. The best investment I made was giving my own mind the same energy I gave everything external.
24. Insight without action is comfortable suffering.
25. You will not think your way into a new identity. Behave as that person before you feel like them.
26. The fastest growers are the most honest about what is actually in the way.
27. Your environment is either reinforcing who you were or demanding who you are becoming.
28. Most battles in my 20s were not with my circumstances, but with a story I never questioned.
29. Nobody is coming to remove your barriers, it's on you.
30. The relationship you have with yourself sets the ceiling of every other relationship in your life.
31. Failure only stays as an identity if you never examine what it taught you. 


If something in that list hit you hard, go deeper with it. 
That recognition is not an accident; it may be your own limitation.

31 lessons from inner work

Uncertainty reveals who you really are & Dubai right now is unsettling.
I follow these 5 life philosophies to operate with calmness in chaos.

There is debris from missiles falling, causing devastation, US bases being hit nearby residential areas...

But the reality is, we are not being targeted. And we [UAE] are not in a war.

And many people seem to be making this situation about THEM?
Praying on the fear of others & spreading negative news. 
Yes, it's scary, yes it's uncertain, and YES we have ZERO control right now.

So manage yourself.

Which leads me to the 1st principle of leading my life with calm & clarity:

1. Objectivity Vs Catastrophe; don't catastrophise.
Most people become anxious because they exaggerate things in their mind.
I live my life with an objective perspective on what IS, removing judgment.
This is a premise for informed decisions & purposeful emotions to arise.

2. Disassociate: Remove Yourself.
This is not about you, it never was and never will be. 
You have less control than you think, allow life to be.
Control the controllables, which are predominantly your mind, emotions & behaviour. 

3. Emotional Regulation: Become Calm, in Chaos.
Not many people know how to truly regulate and remain centred & grounded.

4. Faith: Relinquish Control
The adoption of trust in the process, universe, God, external - whatever your 
I'm not religious, nor do I conform to others' perspective, but I've built my own faith in what IS, if I cannot control the situation, I control myself. I maintain my good habits, focus & attention. 
Most people will fight to control the external & only face more resistance.

5. Internal Compass: Reconnect with What Feels Right
If I don't feel like doing a thing during a time of uncertainty, I don't do it.
If I want to do something out of the ordinary [for the right reasons] I do it.
I am internally robust because I've practised the skill of listening to myself.

The #1 ROI is building your self-management system & most people avoid it.

Manage your thoughts.
Manage your emotions.
Manage your behaviour.
Manage your communication.
Manage your self-leadership.
Manage yourSELF.

1. People who are in control of themselves.

The most driven people I’ve ever met are also some of the loneliest - and most of them have no idea why.

Ones damage marriages, friendships and families.

Not from neglect or malice, but from the very thing they’ve been praised for their entire lives: 

Their relentless discipline & drive to optimise.

But the kind of pursuit that comes with baggage. 

You run cost-benefit analyses on your relationships without realising. 

You hold people to standards they never agreed to.

You sit in conversations mentally identifying inefficiencies instead of just being present. 

And slowly, you stop enjoying any of it - the work, the wins, the people around you.

Everything becomes a gap between where things are and where they “should” be.

Then add the self-development layer on top of that, and it gets more complicated. 

When you’re investing heavily in your own growth: reading, coaching - it’s easy to develop a subtle entitlement around it - this is the baggage I referred to.

A belief that because you’re working on yourself, you’ve earned the moral high ground. 

So when someone in your life isn’t growing at the same pace, they stop feeling different and start feeling wrong. 

Their reactions become irrational, their perspective becomes limited, their emotions become something to manage rather than understand. 

You stop being a partner or a friend and become a coach who wasn’t hired - I’ve been guilty of this ☠️

What this creates, over time, isn’t connection. 
It’s resentment. 

Theirs, because they feel like they’re constantly being measured and found lacking. 

And yours, because you can’t understand why the people around you aren’t meeting you where you are. 

The relationship becomes functional at best.

The high performers I work with who’ve figured this out aren’t less ambitious or driven.

They’re actualised enough to let go of the baggage & judgement. 

Because optimisation is a tool, & relentless pursuit of success is your choice not others’.
