Freelance Copywriter, Copyeditor and Content Planner

Roubler

Roubler is an all-in-one SaaS product that combines every aspect of HR & payroll into one seamless cloud-based system for simpler shift-based workforce management

I was tasked with setting and executing the marketing strategy for the Roubler brand in Australia, Singapore and South Africa to generate high quality leads through a content-focused inbound approach. My tactics included (but certainly weren't limited to):
- Highly-focused PPC campaigns (Google Ad Words and LinkedIn Sponsored Content) that speak to customer needs in the moment.
- Automated, email lead nurture campaigns that address very specific customer challenges. 
- Sourcing, writing and publishing fresh, SEO-optimised, locally-relevant content for the Roubler website within a pillar page/topic cluster framework including landing pages, blogs and e-books (after a full re-write and re-structure on WordPress in 2018).
- Social media engagement via Twitter, LinkedIn and Facebook using a combination of curated and owned content.
- Production of customer story videos to demonstrate the real value of the Roubler platform. 
- Providing sales team members with up to date collateral and marketing insight as needed.
- Monitoring and analysing data on HubSpot (our marketing and sales engine), to assess successes and gaps in our strategy.

IPWEA Queensland (IPWEAQ)

As the IPWEAQ Membership Manager, I was responsible for managing the CRM system, coordinating subscription renewals, member inquiries, email marketing, plus attraction and retention strategies for the IPWEAQ membership programme.

Membership Manager (Contract)

University of Surrey

2016 University of the Year (The Times and Sunday Times- UK). 

I managed a number of high profile student campaigns, including the National Student Survey and Welcome Week. This included preparing written content for web, digital advertising, outdoor and email.

I also project managed the 2015 Annual Review as new multi-channel, digitally focused campaign. I lead the project team, created the content plan and liaised with over 50 stakeholders to source content. 

Achievements: The new Annual Review format drew the highest levels of Facebook and Twitter interactions seen for an annual review at Surrey. Furthermore, the film component won 'Most Creative Corporate Institution Video - Gold Award' at the QS-Apple Creative Awards 2016.

Project Officer - Marketing (Project-Based Contract)

In this role I contributed to the student recruitment strategy via the coordination of live ‘Chat Shows’ at student open days, email campaigns, digital and print advertising campaigns and content production (print and video). 

This encompassed writing detailed briefs for the in-house film, design and web teams and liaised across stakeholders from multiple faculties and international offices on marketing requirements.

Campaigns Officer (3 Month Contract)

The Oxford Group

The Oxford Group provides management and leadership training for the world's leading organisations, designing learning experiences to support the achievement of personal and business goals.

My role was focused on leading a team in the deployment of The Oxford Group's strategy for client engagement, for Europe, the USA and Hong Kong with the aim of developing new and existing client relationships and stimulating sales growth.

I undertook all copywriting, content planning, social media management and campaign planning.

Key achievements: 
- Revitalised the organisation’s content marketing strategy to place lead capture and nurture at its heart. Following a comprehensive content audit, I updated and repurposed existing assets (whitepapers, blogs, SlideShare presentations, guides, FAQs, webinars); created new content; launched a blog; and instigated an automated email nurture programme with email templates, data capture forms and campaigns featuring dynamic content.
- Led the redevelopment of the businesses website from start to finish in seven months. This covered project management; designing the site architecture; re-writing of content to improve SEO; and collaborating on user experience and visual design.
- Developed and executed the launch strategy for the book: 5 Conversations: How to transform trust, engagement and performance at work. This encompassed production of landing pages, social media posts, promotional tools and feature pieces for the media. As a result, the book reached Amazon bestseller status in three categories.
- Partnered with the Global Marketing Director to manage the migration to and adoption of MS Dynamics CRM and the subsequent integration with our email marketing platform.

XpertHR - Reed Business Information Ltd

XpertHR is a comprehensive online resource providing HR professionals with guidance on employment law, HR strategy and HR compliance.

My role was focussed on:

- Lead generation: reaching HR professionals through timely and targeted online campaigns and webinars integrating social media, email marketing and advertising.

- Working with internal editors and authors to write and produce assets for content marketing, social media and stakeholder relations projects.

- Leveraging opportunities to reach our market via partner sites by optimising our presence on the sites and developing channels to reach new prospects through content marketing, membership programmes, and email-based lead nurture programmes.

- Writing and producing effective marketing tools to support tele-sales and field sales teams.

- Coordinating attendance at relevant events to build brand awareness for the XpertHR Professional product.

Major achievement:
- Planned and wrote content for an online support center for XpertHR US’s law firm partners that provided them with resources to leverage their partnership.
- Was seconded to New Jersey to coordinate the successful launch of the XpertHR US brand at the USA’s largest HR conference, SHRM 2012. This included procuring all exhibition marketing materials including the booth, staff rostering, setting up a competition for delegates, arranging data capture facilities and developing a social media strategy and suite of sales collateral to leverage participation at the event.

Marketing Executive (Rolling Maternity Contract)

Science Museum

This was a project-based role focussed on executing off-line marketing campaigns to drive visitation to the Museum and enhancing the customer experience while on-site.

Digital Signage Project: I worked with the Museum's curatorial and new media departments, revenue-share partners (including IMAX and Metropolis Entertainment) and external production companies to determine the requirements for, develop and execute promotional video content for the Science Museum's new digital signage system to enhance up-sell of paid attractions and visitation to free galleries.

Offline campaigns: I planned and executed marketing activities to promote the Museum's 3D and 4D cinema attractions and several events during Summer 2011. 

Tourism development:  I planned and executed and number of initiatives to grow the Museum's organised group tour market including print advertising, events, printed collateral and increasing the online presence with relevant trade authorities.

Acting Senior Marketing Executive (Project-Based Contract)

The Workshops Rail Museum

A role requiring proficiency in many disciplines to plan and implement a range of event and tourism based integrated marketing strategies to raise the profile of and drive attendance to The Workshops Rail Museum (TWRM). 

ONLINE 
- Writing content and managing website updates using Content Management System Sitecore.
- Developing and managing TWRM’s email marketing program.
- Managing updates for social media and contributing to TWRM’s social media strategy.
- Developing and implementing customer research projects using online research tools.
- Monitoring and analysing web metrics using Google Analytics to guide changes to the TWRM site and inform future developments to both online and offline strategies.

Major Achievements: 
- Developed TWRM’s ENews program from inception, increasing subscription by 200% over 18 months.
- Developed and delivered web-based audience research project for TWRM’s Annual Pass Membership program (existing members). 

OFFLINE
- Copywriting, production and distribution of all printed and online communication materials including a quarterly membership magazine.
- Planning and implementing targeted media and publicity activities including filming for local television programs.
- Managing TWRM’s direct marketing (mail) program.
- Working with media planning and creative agencies to develop advertising campaigns. 
- Evaluating TWRM’s public programs and marketing strategies via analysis of financial and attendance data, visitor research and media coverage.
- Representing TWRM within the tourism industry.

Major Achievements:
- Delivered communication strategies for 4 major school holiday events per year, member events, temporary and enthusiast exhibitions on time and to budget, contributing to attracting over 100,000 visitors per year and securing a minimum $60,000 per event in publicity.
- Established a solid promotional relationship with a major national monthly pre-teen publication and regular promotional support from local newspapers.

Marketing Officer

During this period I successfully delivered the marketing strategy for the annual Day out with Thomas 2009 event which attracted over 32,000. I managed all communication activities including assuring adherence to Friends of Thomas licensing requirements, advertising production and placement, distribution of marketing materials, managing media opportunities and requests and overseeing complaint resolution through liaison with Museum staff and TransLink.

In addition I worked with the local tourism bodies and design agencies to plan and implement generic and tourism focused advertising activities for 2009, managed day to day financial and budgeting requirements and prepared responses to ministerial enquiries.

Acting Marketing Manager

P4 Group

This varied role within a full-service marketing communications consultancy, encompassed reception and secretarial duties, office administration and support to the P4 team. Specifically:

- Financial administration: managing accounts payable, preparation and issuing of client invoices.
- Preparing, proof-reading and editing sponsorship proposals, presentations and communication strategies for clients such as Warner Brothers, the Brisbane International Film Festival (BIFF 2006) and Warner Village Theme Parks.
- Managing the sponsor benefits database for the BIFF 2006.
- Conducting web-based research to develop sponsorship bench-marking and target databases.
- Preparing Government tender documents.
- Event management of staff conferences and smaller events within BIFF 2006.

Major Achievement:
- Working with Brisbane City Council and BIFF to successfully develop and deliver the first BIFF in the Burbs outdoor cinema program of 5 events in July 2006, attracting over 1500 people. The success of the 2006 event has led to it being included as a permanent fixture of the BIFF program.
