Brick JUST SENT ME A BRICK!!! 🧱

Last week, I said it’s time to shoot my shot… and it worked!

I shared a post about breaking my toxic relationship with my phone and ever since hearing about Brick, I KNEW I had to get one.

But in that post, I also pitched to work with Brick on a weekly mini vlog series for 4 weeks, showing how much my screen time drops with this little (but mighty) device.

And the team replied… so guys, strap in because we’re going on a vlogging ride. 😅

Every Friday, I’ll be dropping a mini vlog sharing how I’m getting on with Brick in my day to day, and tracking exactly how much my screen time goes down.

In 2026, you have to shoot your shot…👀

I want to partner with Brick 🧱

My screen time is diabolical and looking back at how addicted I was to my phone last year, we have SERIOUS separation anxiety.

I know I work in social and it’s part of my job to be online for work, being present on LinkedIn, learning about the industry etc.

But there is so much doom scrolling that happens during that time that I just cannot let run anymore.

A lot of people have recommended me to use Brick, I’ve seen on my FYP on TikTok and I just know it will help break up my relationship with my phone.

So Brick, just putting myself out there to propose to work together on a LinkedIn campaign, where I create weekly mini vlogs for 4 weeks to see how much my screen time goes down by and if I manage to leave my toxic relationship with my phone.

What do you guys think, can we make this happen? 👀

The hardest thing about being a social media manager is knowing that your creative thinking isn’t unlimited. 

Our brains aren’t filled with extraordinary, incredible, out-of-this-world ideas 24/7. 

So please be patient with us. The ideas will come eventually… (or 10 days later).

If we’ve been connected for ages and don’t know what I do, here’s me…

I’m Dayana.

A 27 year old girlie living and working in London. Any fellow Londoners here?

By day, I’m the Social Media Executive at The Folio Society (my 2 year anniversary is coming up and I genuinely can’t believe it). 

And by… also day and night, I spend A LOT of my free time creating content around social media marketing.

I share what it’s really like working in the industry, what’s working, what’s not and anything that might help someone else because we do not gatekeep around here. 

Now I’m no expert because this job will humble you DAILY but I’ve definitely learned a lot along the way. 

But over the last 18 months I’ve helped grow Folio’s social channels by 194k followers across platforms. 

Trust me, it was part strategy and 80% running on vibes.

So I love sharing what I’m learning from my role at Folio, what I’m testing and the stuff I consume and have opinions on. Basically anything I wish I knew four years ago and what can help now too. 

Sometimes I throw in a little day in the life video too because I LOVE making video content. People say video doesn’t work on here but I cannot help myself 🤭

It’s now been over 4 years in the industry and if there’s one thing I will always believe about social media, it’s this.

If your competitors go left, you go right.
If they’re doing X, learn from it and do Y.

Being different is what helps you standout. And when it works, it BLOWS. People talk about it, others copy and that’s how you grow.

What’s one thing you strongly believe about social media or marketing in general?

If there’s one event you go to in 2026, make sure it’s a Slice | Social Consultancy event 🤝🏽

The craziest idea came to me on the tube for Wellwoman the other day…

What caught my eye was the line:

‘Wellwoman helps support me for the busy days ahead.’

It instantly spoke to me. 

Because as someone who has a full-time job, creates content on the side, goes to the gym regularly and tries to maintain a social life, my life is BUSY. And I know I’m not the only one who can relate.

So it got me thinking…

Imagine Wellwoman partnering with a creator who works full-time and has a genuinely busy lifestyle and together they create a series sharing the journey of the creator taking vitamins for the first time and how it impacts their life over time.

Almost like a live weekly tracker, but shared online.

It could be a week in the life with a voiceover sharing their updates or even a sit-down talking video where they’re reflecting on the week and inserting clips from real moments to make the video engaging. 

They could monitor and give updates on changes from mood to energy to overall wellbeing, showing how a small daily habit can make a real difference over time.

Something like:

‘12 Weeks of Wellwoman: Let’s See What Changes’

Something like this could really work because series content is going to be a HUGE thing in 2026 (word to Grace).

Not only does a series give audiences a reason to keep coming back, but it also builds trust and feels authentic. 

People don’t just want a single ‘day in the life’ video where the product is casually inserted. 

They want journeys, stories, progress and transformations.

Over the last 4 years working in social, I’ve realised that anyone working in the industry really needs two things to create some really cool stuff on these platforms: space for creativity and data.

Social media managers. Just 3 HABITS that will help you keep ✨shining✨ and doing what you do best…

1. Read and educate yourself every day.

I’ve added a 45-minute time block every day to dedicate to learning about the industry. Whether that’s reading a blog, dissecting a report, listening to a podcast, opening Substack etc.

I’m learning something new every day.

2. Write down your work achievements WEEKLY.

I know there is something you have achieved this week, no matter how big or small, so make sure to write it down.

When you start doing this, you’ll actually see the impact you’ve made with your work. Because you’re doing AMAZING! 🫶🏼

3. Block time to free the mind.

I go for walks with no music, just the sound of life going on in the background and my thoughts.

I do this every other day (I have a dog), and the way it has allowed me to unclog my mind and make space for creativity has genuinely been life-changing.

I know these aren’t out-of-this-world suggestions and we’ve seen people talk about them before, but the power lies in prioritising them and making them a non-negotiable in your day.

That’s what begins to make the difference.
