In 2022, I assisted Vic Roy with transitioning his Private Wealth business to Morgan Stanley. This business consisted of a multi-family office approach with an average client net worth of $50M+. We also continued our initiative in Exit Planing towards the SMB/MMB space by advising on multiple eight and nine figure exits. This clearly led to a deep focus on estate and legacy planning. 

Within my first few months at Morgan Stanley, I was invited to apply and ultimately accepted to be a member of the prestigious PWAA program that only accepts 10 members per cohort.

During the transition to Morgan Stanley, I was able to re establish as well as enhance many of the tax optimization strategies that I deployed at UBS.

I joined Managing Director Vic Roy in 2021 as a partner to lead the strategic planning practice within his private wealth business. Within the first year on the team, I implemented multiple strategic planning initiatives that helped to boost production by 25%+ during a bear market. These strategies helped our clients to optimize their tax efficiency as well as protect their downside.They included:

- Pairing direct index investing with opportunity zone funds
- Security backed lending arbitrage with structured yield investments 
- Pre sale planning around the SALT Tax workaround among other strategies 
- Private foundation creation and implementation

Financial Advisor 

During my time as a WPA, I worked with the top teams in the DC market to create and execute strategic planning engagements. The majority of my work was with founders planning around M&A or exit transactions. One of the teams that I worked with exclusively was The Capital ESOP Group, one of the leading advisors in the 1042 space.

While in the role, I worked on billions in collective exit value where strategic planning led to tens of millions in tax optimization.

- Co-led effort to launch Nashville office that focused on building the entertainment side of the portfolio.

- Identified opportunities to increase revenue intra company by connecting properties through partnership to boost ROI. 

- Developed, placed, and executed 5-hour ENERGY's national country music platform with anchor artist Dierks Bentley. This included nationally broadcasted television advertisements as well as a joint marketing campaign with 7/11 stores. 

- Created custom marketing platform for Sugarlands Distilling Co. around country music star Cole Swindell including a custom product line and royalty agreement. 

-Used artist/brand specific social analytic and demographic analyzation process to design and pitch partnership programs for artists such as Dierks Bentley, Cole Swindell, and Luke Combs among others. 

- Worked with clients and venues to create marque activation and hospitality experiences at concerts around the country to further enhance partnerships.

-Enhance portfolio of sports and entertainment clients/properties through targeted marketing and social media

- Helped identify opportunities for revenue growth by expanding partnerships

- Organize halftime and in game promotions

- Worked hand and hand with the Baltimore Ravens to create a dual Social Media contest to promote both the Ravens as well as Navy Athletics

In 2016, I was on the NASCAR circuit (not a driver).

In 2017, I toured with Dierks Bentley (not a musician).

Since 2018, I have advised entrepreneurs with a collective net worth in the billions of dollars on efficient optimization and exit strategies.

Now, I am helping to future proof the supply chain, build Industry 5.0 and give business owners a path to greater exits with Matium. 

I also founded BlueFin Strategies to continue to help founders and entrepreneurs optimize all aspects of their balance sheet.

You may think it's a shortcut, but you may end up breaking the law...

When you're raising capital you'll typically come upon "finders" or "super connectors" who are well connected with high level investors, so you approach them to see if anyone in their network would be interested in your offering.

Here's where most get in trouble with stuff like this. They use the 506b exemption which means no general solicitation and all of the investors that they pitch or sell to need to be existing relationships.

Even if you know the "finder" and have qualified them, they cannot go pitch your deal to their investors because that is basically general solicitation which with the 506b is a no no.

You may think that because you know the "finder" and that "finder" knows the investors very well, that this gets around the rules, it does not. 

You need to know and qualify each one of those investors personally, and I don't know anyone who is going to hand over their database or relationships and let you run wild with it! The "finder" would have to make intros before they showed their investors the deal and again, I don't know many who would do this as they now have no control of the process.

The other fact to consider is that unless the "finder" is licensed, they cannot earn a success fee or referral fee for any capital placed. So, unless they are working on a flat fee only for making intros no matter the outcome, this too is illegal.

I'm just saying to be careful out there when it comes to raising capital via private securities as there are rules and laws to abide to and most don't even know what those rules and laws are so they just wing it, which typically doesn't end well.
