My name is Mitch Clements, and I specialize in product vision, strategy, storytelling, and building design teams to drive business results.

With a diverse career background as a developer, product manager, and designer, I bring a unique perspective as a Product Design Leader. •	hired, coached, and led a team of 6 engineers to work on new product development and product improvement

•	received boost plan bonus (only project out of four candidates) assigned to accelerate the achievement of the general availability goal of the company’s much-needed products
•	used creativity to solve issues, 10 patents were granted and a further 4 pending

I dealt with the design of products (both carpentry and plastic injection, thermoformed, extruded, or rotational) and project management: from engineering to the correct drafting of the documentation, from the prototyping phase (including tests) to the pre-series (taking into account quality, costs, reliability, and ease of maintenance) by coordinating engineers, choosing materials, technologies, and interfacing with both national and international customers and suppliers.

Notable accomplishments:
•	performed 7 years of Cross-functional Team Leadership both as an engineering/R&D department member and project manager within an international product development environment
•	managed with a hands-on approach to many projects effectively, from the automotive to the product design industry
•	led hands-on several projects of scooters and motorcycles (electric/endothermic traction) for Chinese and Taiwanese companies, assuring project deliverables are completed on time, conformed with engineering design, and adhered to the quality standard
•	traveled to Chinese customers to define project scope and requirements, generated conceptual design meeting the customers’ requirements and design restrictions, held design reviews, and reported progress on a regular basis to ensure conformance with engineering design and performance specifications

I dealt with the design of steel/aluminum frames and plastic products, as well as the realization of equipment and prototypes, for the production of quadricycles drivable without a license (minicar).

I designed parts and welding/control fixtures to produce frames, silencers, and tanks for the world's leading manufacturers of motorcycles (HONDA, DUCATI, YAMAHA, APRILIA, MBK, SACHS, VOXAN).

Notable accomplishments:
• implemented Lean Manufacturing concepts to drive continuous improvement and process improvement, in particular, optimizing the work cycle of the Ducati Monster rear swingarm with a 3% cost reduction
• established, maintained, and improved processes for Operator Standard Work and Labor routings, and other related technical input and documentation, in particular, optimized cycle times for all welded parts in production with a reduction ranging from 7% to 18%
• tutored a graduating student at the Polytechnic of Bari for a thesis with a company internship on the optimization of welding parameters in aluminum alloy applications on motorcycle components.

MY PROFESSIONAL HISTORY
Since I was a child, I have always been attracted by two things: how objects worked, at that time toys, which I systematically disassembled and reassembled or modified, and football, where I soon became the captain and coach of the team in the neighborhood where I lived.
Guess what I became when I grew up? Not a soccer champion.
Indeed, I graduated in Mechanical Engineering and managed to build 20+ years of work experience always exceeding expectations in performance evaluation. In addition, for more than 10 years, I've managed engineers, taking responsibility for achieving high-level performance through sharing knowledge and experience.
