With a diverse career background as a developer, product manager, and designer, I bring a unique perspective as a Product Design Leader. Can I tell you a secret? 🤫

During my career I've been a UI/UX Designer, Product Designer, and a UX Designer...

...and I did the exact same thing in all 3 roles.

My daily responsibilities never changed.

"But Product Designers focus on the holistic product"... really?

As a UX Designer, I always focused on the holistic user experience, information architecture, and user flows between experiences.

"You don't understand, Product Designers focus on the business needs."

Are you implying that UX Designers don't? 

Every day as a UX Designer I had to communicate the business value of design, regardless if my title said "Product" or not.

No company or organization has yet to consistently agree on a standard definition industry-wide. And with the rise of AI, layoffs, and roles merging, the overlap is only increasing more.
