It’s my birthday, and I’m finally brave enough to want what I want. 

So yeah, more candles and fewer compromises for me, please (wink)

If I had one wish to make, I’d simply wish for clients who match my vibe. 

The kind of people who get the way I think, work, and show up.

If there’s something I’m genuinely grateful for, it’s my clients.

The ones who’ve stayed with me and grown alongside me.

Both taught me something (tons of things!)
Both shaped me (in the best possible way)

There was a phase when I was just dragging myself to exist. 

Not living. Just moving from one day to another, unsure of where I was headed. 

I remember calling my best friend in one of those moments, exhausted and confused. 

And she (Alisha Taneja) said something I’ll never forget:

“You stupid girl, go online and leverage your writing skills.”

I listened to her (as I always do)

And somewhere along the way, I discovered a version of myself I hadn’t fully met yet.

A confident woman.

Someone who could be the voice of C-suite executives.

Someone who could walk into meetings and hold her ground.

Someone who could build a career while building a life of her own.

And through all of this, there’s been one constant, Dhananjay Singh, the love of my life, supporting me regardless of what wild plan or new direction I decide to take next.

If LinkedIn were my beau, it would never convert into my spouse.

Because this one needs constant attention.

Miss a day, and it sulks.

Miss a week, and it pretends it never knew you.

Break the streak, and suddenly you’re being punished with silence.

This is crazy!! 

If you show up consistently, listen, and engage, nurture the relationship

LinkedIn rewards you with reach, visibility, conversations, little dopamine hits that make you feel seen.

But the moment you pause when life happens, you choose rest, or you want to step away.

LinkedIn doesn’t wait for you. It moves on!

This is not husband energy.
This is high-maintenance beau energy (lol)

It thrives on momentum
It needs to be fed regularly
It responds best when you keep showing up 

(even on days you have nothing profound to say)

And that’s not necessarily a bad thing.

It just means you have to know what kind of relationship you’re in.

So yeah, LinkedIn is not built for ‘check in when life allows’

It’s built for consistency, rhythm, and regular presence.

Once you understand that, things stop feeling personal.

Low reach is not rejection
Silence is not failure

It’s just the platform saying, 
‘I need you back’

So no, LinkedIn is not spouse material.

But it can be a powerful beau, if you learn how to keep the spark alive without letting it run your life.

Brand identity is not what you say your brand is.

It’s what people already expect from you before you speak📍

Factually speaking,

According to multiple brand recall studies, people remember patterns, not perfection.

Tone, repetition, familiar POVs matter more than your Canva slides.

That’s why brands with ‘average’ design but strong opinions win.

And why beautifully designed brands with no spine disappear.

Your brand identity is built by:

☇what you repeat (not what you post once)
☇what you refuse to talk about
☇how predictable your thinking is
(in a good way)

Consistency here doesn’t mean posting daily but thinking the same way over time.

Another uncomfortable truth:

Most brands change their identity every time they don’t get results fast enough📍

⇢New narrative
⇢New positioning
⇢New ‘this time we’ll do it right’ energy

(That’s not evolution but insecurity) 

That’s why I always bring up Zomato when talking about brand identity.

Not because they have good creatives (Plenty of brands do)

But because you can recognise a Zomato line without seeing the logo.

The humour, the timing, the way they talk about food, culture, life is always slightly witty, slightly self-aware, never trying too hard.

⇢Even when they change formats
⇢Even when platforms change
⇢Even when trends rotate

That’s not accidental. They’ve actually built it by repeating a personality until it became familiar.

People should know:

☇how you’ll sound
☇what you’ll joke about
☇what you’ll never say
☇what side you’ll take

Before they even open the post.

That’s when trust builds, recall kicks in, and branding actually starts doing its job.

Logos can be redesigned, logos can be changed, colours will trend and fade.

But if people can’t recognise you from a single line of text, you don’t have a brand identity yet.

You just have content.

And there’s a big difference between the two.

Agreed?

The paradox of personal branding we all feel but rarely admit

Everyone says they want to build a personal brand to be visible, to be known, and to be remembered.

But they don’t say out loud is that they’re deeply uncomfortable with being seen.

That’s the Paradox📍

☇You want reach, 
⇢but you worry about judgment.

☇You want recognition, 
⇢but you soften your opinions.

☇You want to stand out, 
⇢but you’re scared of standing alone.

So you hover in the safest possible zone.

⇢You post, but carefully.
⇢You share, but vaguely.
⇢You show up, but with disclaimers.

Enough to feel present.
Not enough to feel exposed.

And here’s the part we rarely admit:

❎ It’s not the algorithm holding most people back.

✅ It’s the emotional cost of visibility.

⇢ Because once you put a clear point of view out there, you can’t control how it’s received (I feel this personally) 

⇢ Once you take space, you open yourself up to disagreement

⇢ Once you’re specific, you automatically become not for everyone

The irony is brutal📍

The moment you try to be universally acceptable, you become forgettable.

And the moment you allow yourself to be clearly you, your brand starts working.

Strong personal brands aren’t built by being loud or controversial.

They’re built by being honest, consistent, and specific enough to be recognised.

You can’t escape the paradox.
You can only choose which side you live on.

Comfort, or clarity.
Silence, or recall.

I get rejected about 5/10 times every week

That number hasn’t really changed much over the years, even after being in this business for around 4 years. 

Perhaps, what’s changed is how I look at it.

Earlier, every rejection felt personal. 

I’d sit with it longer than I should, replay conversations, wonder if I should’ve said things differently or priced my services differently. 

Now, I’ve made peace with a simple truth:

Neither every prospect will like my work, nor every prospect is meant to be my client.

And honestly, that acceptance coming to a person like me couldn’t be less than a miracle.

(I’m BAD at handling rejections)  

So, this acceptance to rejections being a part of business came from another important aspect of my life,

And that is being a mom to a 4-year-old daughter. 

Which means my days are split between building a business and raising a tiny human who’s learning the world one step at a time. 

In many ways, I’m building two foundations side by side, one for her, and one for myself.

Some days, rejection shows up in client calls. 

Other days, it shows up in the form of exhaustion, missed naps, or unfinished to-do lists. 

But both have taught me the same thing: 

❎ I can’t grow by avoiding discomfort

✅ I can be successful by learning how to move through it without losing yourself.

I want my daughter to see me choose work that aligns, not just work that pays. 

To see me write, create, and build something meaningful, even when it doesn’t get a yes every time. 

To understand that success doesn’t mean universal approval.

So when a prospect says no, I don’t take it as a setback anymore. 

I take it as clarity. 

A reminder that I’m allowed to build at my own pace, with my own values, while showing up fully for the life I’m creating at home too.

I may get rejected often.

But I’m also growing something far more important, on both fronts.

And that matters the most ✌️

Starting out on LinkedIn wasn’t what I expected.

I thought my first post would do okay.
It didn’t.

I thought consistency would fix everything.
It didn’t.

The first 30 days felt awkwardly quiet.

-Not enough reactions (barely 5-6)
-Not enough comments (or none I’d say)
-Plenty of self-doubt (24*7)

I kept wondering if I was saying the wrong things, or if I was just late to the party.

Over time, experimenting with writing styles, and consuming content like crazy, 

I realised that posting every day will not automatically make me relevant.

Sometimes it just makes you louder.

Silence doesn’t always mean failure. And a noisy post doesn’t always mean impact.

One good post doesn’t mean you’ve figured it out.

One bad week doesn’t mean you’re losing momentum.

Growth here is rarely straight or fair.

It’s shaped by timing, narrative, repetition, and patience that no one warns you about.

LinkedIn didn’t come with a rulebook.
It just gave me a stage.

Learning what to say on it took time.
And honestly, that part still does.

You see, these are regular examples, leave those who we see everyday online sharing their wins.

(Not in the way you’re expecting, at least)

☇It won’t magically fix your reach
☇It won’t give you a new content hack
☇It won’t tell you what time to post 
☇Or how many lines to break

Because if we’re being honest, progress doesn’t really happen on LinkedIn.

Most of us scroll the feed the same way we scroll workout videos.

We feel inspired for a moment, maybe even save the post.

And then life goes on exactly the same.

Nothing changes unless something actually changes.

⇢The real shift usually happens after you close the app.

⇢When you stop borrowing other people’s language.

⇢When you finally say what you’ve been thinking but never posting.

⇢When your content starts sounding like a person, not a performance.

❎LinkedIn doesn’t reward how hard you try
✅It responds to how clear you are

☇Clear about what you believe
☇Clear about what you stand for
☇Clear enough to risk not being liked by everyone

So no, this post won’t help you “grow” on LinkedIn.

But if it made you pause
If it made you rethink how you show up here
If it nudged you to write one honest post (instead of a perfect one)

That’s usually where growth begins.

Your About section is usually read at the wrong moment, and written for the wrong one.

Most people write it like an introduction.

But by the time someone scrolls there, they’re already interested.

☇They’ve read a post
☇Clicked your name
☇Paused long enough to want context

And that’s where many profiles lose them.

☇Instead of clarity, they find a résumé.
☇Instead of story, there are achievements
☇Instead of reassurance, they find jargon

What that reader actually wants in that moment is simple:

☇Do I understand what this person does?
☇Can they understand my core problem?
☇Can I trust them enough to take the next step?

That’s why the About section needs a different framework:

1. Start with why this work matters to you now, not how impressive your past looks.

2. Acknowledge the problem your audience is struggling with, show you’ve been there.

3. Explain the shift in thinking or experience that shaped your perspective.

4. Say what you do clearly and simply (one read, no decoding).

5. End with what working with you enables (outcomes, not promises).

When this section is written for the right moment:

✅ Recruiters get clarity faster
✅ Clients self-qualify before they reach out
✅ Your profile does the explaining for you

Your content creates interest, but your About section decides what happens next.

That’s the difference between being looked at and being chosen.

Most days, I write a post, hit publish, and move on.

I write from whatever I’m feeling in that moment.

Something I experienced or a thought that felt honest enough to put out there.

And then a week passes, sometimes two.
I barely remember what I wrote.

Until a call gets scheduled.

And somewhere in the conversation, they casually say, 

‘I read the post you wrote about boundaries’

‘The way you explained delegation really stayed with me’

‘I’ve been following your content, it’s been a learning process for me’

That’s the moment it hits.

What feels fleeting to you can quietly become foundational for someone else.

We often underestimate the weight of our words because we live with them every day. 

But for someone on the other side of the screen, that one post might have arrived at exactly the right moment.

You may think you’re just sharing.

But you are actually teaching, guiding in the most natural way possible.

Giving someone the language for something they couldn’t articulate yet.

Writing online is liberating. 

It’s just showing up honestly and letting your experiences do their quiet work.

You don’t always see the impact immediately.

But when you do, it reminds you why you started in the first place.

You can be someone’s learning guide, or motivation, or a gentle nudge forward.

Even if you forget the post.

Think about it…

Brand visibility is easy to chase
Brand relevance is harder to earn

Yes, with the right strategy, you can get visible.

(More posts, more reach, more impressions)

But the real question is:
⇢Who is actually seeing your brand?

Visibility means nothing if it’s landing in front of the wrong people.

A million impressions from people who will never need you, trust you, or buy from you
is just noise dressed up as success.

What you want isn’t visibility for everyone.
You want visibility that resonates with the right audience.

That shift changes the strategy.

Here’s what visibility that resonates actually looks like:

☇ Being clear about who your content is NOT for

☇ Repeating your core message until the right people recognise you

☇ Choosing topics that solve real problems

☇ Writing in a voice your audience understands, not one the algorithm rewards

☇ Measuring conversations and conversions, not just views

You can be visible without being relevant.
But relevance is what builds recall, trust, and business.

So yes, build visibility. Just make sure it’s the kind that attracts the people who actually matter.

Because attention is easy to get.
Alignment is what lasts.

Thoughts?

I didn’t plan to analyze this but LinkedIn patterns this January were hard to miss 

I’ve my fair share of shift study through daily scrolling, client work, and what’s showing up consistently on the feed.

So here are a few things people seem to be leaning into right now:

1. AI-generated images

Less obsession with authenticity
More focus on speed and showing up

(Looks like LinkedIn is game for AI)

2. Old brand case studies

Nike, Apple, Airbnb, Zomato, Jio, all big brands are shining (again) 

Not for novelty, but because the fundamentals still make sense 

3. Red font in visuals

Especially for hooks and strong lines.
It interrupts the scroll and, for now, it works

4. No hashtags in the posts

Many posts are not using them at all anymore and still performing fab

(This shift is worth noticing)

5. No formal post closures or P.S.

You’ll not find ‘what do you think?’ or forced CTAs when posts end.

Posts these days simply end and are left open to interpretation/judgment to the readers

6. Creators commenting on their own posts

Adding context, extending the idea in the comments section for extra attention

Continuing the conversation there instead of forcing engagement upfront

What’s interesting is not any one tactic.
It’s the quiet move away from formulas.

Less trying to look strategic.
More comfort in being clear.

Whether these patterns last or not, one thing is obvious:

People are choosing clarity over cleverness

And I’m game✌️

But somewhere along the way, we’ve started confusing planning with progress.

Talking about reality,
-Growth is not a checklist
-Real work does not look this clean
-You can’t copy or download discipline

Correct? 

Most lessons still come from ground realities like:

1. From building things that don’t work the first time.

2. From uncomfortable conversations

3. From showing up on days when motivation is missing but responsibility isn’t

Maybe we don’t need another master sheet.

Maybe we need fewer theories and more time doing the work we keep postponing📍

❎Less content about success
✅More commitment to the process

I missed back-to-back client meetings in the first week of 2026, and nothing broke.

Get along with the backstory🔻

After a really refreshing weekend getaway with my family, I came back feeling under the weather. 

What started as a cold quickly turned into cough, fever, watery eyes, body pain

The kind that doesn’t let you ‘push through’ even if you want to.

Monday and Tuesday were stacked with client calls (all confirmed, I swear)

And I couldn’t attend a single one.

Earlier, this would’ve meant panic, guilt, that constant urge to apologise and over-explain, the belief that if I’m not present, the work will suffer.

But this time, it didn’t.

-Posts for every client were already aligned
-Expectations were clear, timelines were set

And because I’ve been intentionally learning to delegate, my manager stepped in and handled a few meetings smoothly.

-Work continued
-Clients were supported

And for the first time, I rested without feeling like I was letting anyone down📍

That’s when the real lesson showed up.

Growth doesnt demand you to become indispensable, rather it asks you to build 
systems and teams that don’t collapse when you step away.

Health will fail you sometimes. 
Life will interrupt your plans. 

And if your business can’t survive a couple of sick days, it’s a warning.

So yeah, 2026 didn’t start with unachievable resolutions for me.

It started with a reminder I won’t forget:

Build in a way that lets you be human📍

What’s the #1 trick to get noticed by a specific person on LinkedIn?

It’s not sending them a DM or tagging them randomly.

It’s your ‘comments’ on their post.
How you show up inside their conversation.
(Every damn time!)

🔻The logic is simple: 

Visibility comes from being present where attention already exists.

So this is how it actually works:

1. You comment thoughtfully on their post. 

Not ‘great post’, but something that adds to the discussion.

2. Then you like or react to other comments on that same post, especially the ones that genuinely resonate with you.

3. If something makes you curious, you tag the original author and ask an interesting question. 

Something that nudges the conversation forward, not something that flatters them.

What you’re really doing is simple:

You’re repeatedly entering their notification space without forcing yourself into their inbox📍

And here’s the underrated part most people don’t consider: 

Even if they’ve turned comment notifications off, your name and face keep appearing in the same place. Over and over again in their comments section.

That’s familiarity
That’s recollection
That’s how you stop being a stranger

You’re not ‘trying to get noticed’
You’re participating like you belong there.

1. Clarity 

→Do people immediately understand what you do and who you help?

2. Consistency 

→Are you showing up regularly enough to be remembered?

3. Authenticity 

→Does your content sound like you, or like everyone else on the feed?

4. Engagement 

→Are people just ‘liking,’ or are they talking back to you in comments and DMs?

5. Value 

→Are you giving insights people can use, not just opinions people can scroll past?

6. Recall 

→When your name pops up, do people connect you with something specific, or nothing at all?

Never forget,
Your presence is not built in one viral post.

It’s built in the quiet consistency of showing up with clarity, value, and a voice people trust.

Whenever my content calendar starts looking too clean, my posts stop sounding like me.

Everything is planned in advance, the ideas feel safe, the words are polished, and somehow, nothing feels alive anymore.

Because the things worth saying rarely announce themselves 30 days early.

They show up in random moments 
(At least for me)

In a call that leaves you quiet after.

In a thought that hits while you’re making tea or randomly consuming content.

In something you disagree with but can’t fully explain yet.

Those moments don’t fit neatly into a spreadsheet.

So, I’ve realised that planning helps you show up, but overplanning makes you sound like you’re running after perfection.

The posts that actually connect usually weren’t ‘content ideas’. They came from my reactions, observations, and unfinished thoughts shared honestly.

People don’t come back for perfectly timed posts.

They come back because they feel like there’s a real person thinking out loud on the other side.

And that’s Me!

If LinkedIn had a switch-off button, I know exactly what I’d turn off.

Paid engagements, the kind that looks alive but feels empty.

Over the years, the platform has slowly blurred the line between conversation and performance. 

You start seeing comments that sound perfect but say nothing. 

Likes that arrive in bulk but disappear the moment you reply. 

Activity that inflates numbers but deflates meaning.

And the irony is,
LinkedIn works best when it’s human📍

⇢When someone reads a post and responds because it genuinely moved them.

⇢When a comment adds perspective instead of padding metrics.

⇢When a conversation continues in DMs because trust was built, not bought.

Paid engagement might boost numbers, but it rarely builds belief.

And belief is what actually converts into opportunities, relationships, and long-term credibility.

If you’re choosing to be on this platform, you’re choosing to be in conversation.

And conversations can’t be outsourced.

So yes, if there was a switch-off button, I’d turn off paid engagements in a heartbeat

Because growth should feel earned.
And presence should feel real.

I disagree.

Your consistency is pointless.

A clear voice posted twice a week
beats a confused voice posted daily.

Before asking ‘how often should I post?’
Ask: what should people remember me for?

That answer builds brands that last.
