This was the most historic news and one worth celebration for the changes it will bring. 

Glass ceilings have been broken years ago. yet participation has to be encouraged.

“Riyadh Declaration” was the most significant achievement on the final day of the UNIDO (UN Industrial Development Org) conference as the ARAB NEWS report dated 29 November states.
 
Among the conference’s key outcomes was the designation of April 21 as International Women in Industry Day, underscoring the pivotal role women play in shaping the future of industrial sectors according to the report.

The conference recommended increasing women’s participation across 
- all industrial sectors, 
- expanding their leadership opportunities, and 
promoting equitable policies for social diversity, 
in addition to raising international recognition of women’s contributions through this initiative. 
 
Minister of Industry and Mineral Resources Bandar Alkhorayef emphasized that no industrial future can be sustainable without the full and active participation of women. He affirmed that women’s ideas, leadership, and innovation are essential elements for building a more competitive and inclusive global economy. He added that the conference reaffirmed that empowering women in industry is not merely a social priority, but an economic imperative for fostering growth and sustainability.

This is to all women across ages for the recognition and marking 21st April as important day and many more bright opportunities.

I’ve seen this repeatedly in #warehouses, #Darkstore, corporate office and last-mile hubs:

Rescuing one weak link strengthens the entire chain.

Don’t threaten. Clarify.
Don’t humiliate. Coach.
Don’t judge the person. Fix the process.

My philosophy over the years is not to attack the person but audit the process.
Don’t raise my voice just raise the clarity.
Don’t create fear develop competence.

Remember, your best employees watch this silently. When they see fairness, they stay longer. When they see disrespect, they scan the market.

We don’t build teams in meetings.
We build them in the tough conversations no one sees.

PS: It’s a journey of decades to learn few things and much more to learn. Together we can build good ops and better humans

My first job though small in stature inculcated habits that is lasting forever.

I started on the shopfloor, like many of you have done or will get into.
No fancy title. 
No guarantee.
 
Just discipline, 
curiosity, and 
respect for every task given.

And it taught me something I tell every new joinee in ops today:

Master the basics before you ask for the next level.

In warehouses, dark stores, and last mile, the people who grow fastest are the ones who:
• Show up before the chaos
• Learn quietly and apply loudly
• Close loops without reminders
• Don’t wait for someone to spoon-feed them

A career isn’t built in milestones.
It’s built in small, repeatable disciplines that others notice.

Your ladder starts where your feet are today.
Climb by becoming reliable, not by becoming noisy.

PS: I draw from my experience and share. If it helps even one to grow it makes me feel thankful to all that I learned.

Errors in operations are not transactional.


The moment we treat a mistake like a “one-off,” 
it quietly finds its way back into the system.

“Short-term resolutions guarantees long-term repetition.” 

I keep telling this quote to my operations team. “don’t stop at the complaint.
Look at the reason behind it.”

Every complaint has two layers:

1. Immediate response : 
Fix the customer’s issue with speed and respect.
2. Root-level correction: 
Remove the cause so the problem never returns.

Most teams do the first.
Great operations do both.

The more you start looking at errors this way, the stronger the setup becomes  at any ops. Be it at warehouse, fulfillment , inventory, last mile or you name it.

In #operations, improvement starts when we stop treating errors as transactions and start treating them as lessons.

Every unseen operation becomes tomorrow’s hottest skill.

Small ops but extremely focused customer centric. 

Look around for change. It’s there.

The delay in fulfilling customer order was due to unexplained reason.

It angered me

Why delayed??

Admin had decided to budget paper and print consumables.

Result!

Printer cartridges were stopped without notice
Paper supplies cut without notifying.

This is called Operational brittleness.

It is when a small disruption like this happens:
No paper
No timely service of equipment.
A slow system due to poor upgrades.
An unexpected PDT breakdown and no backup.

All this enough to collapses entire shift. 
It’s a sign that the operation was running on hope, not resilience.

Strong warehouses build shock absorbers: cross-trained staff, 
backup plans, 
Timely service 
second scanners, 
Paper buffer stock, and 
escalation clarity across the board.

Weak #warehouses pretend everything is fine until the day one tiny issue brings the system down.

Success is not about running smoothly when everything is perfect.
It’s about planning to avoid going wrong.

These are few things I learned on the way up in my journey.

Three Languages play important role as we go up in Supply Chain Career.

1. Operator Language: 
Their terms. 
Their reality.
Their pain points. 
Speak it, and they trust you.

2. Technology Language.
APIs, 
Constraints and bugs
Operational WMS logic (for that matter Any App)
Bridge the gap between IT and Ops.

3. Executive Language
The road map
The performance matrix
ROI, KPIs and Strategic impact.
Translate floor issues into corporate priorities.

Master all three and you become the translator every operation fights to hire
but rarely finds.

Purely from Supply Chain perspective may apply to other functions as well.?
