I cried the first time I posted on LinkedIn

(that’s how scared I was of my employer)

I was worried I’d lose my job.

Or be judged.

Or, even worse…

Get laughed at.

Luckily, I didn’t get fired.

But I did quit.

Because that first post was my big leap.

Everything else after that felt easier in comparison.

Don’t get me wrong. 

I still got judged.

And I most definitely got laughed at, 
spoken about, 
was the person people said:

“cringe, have you seen how much she’s posting and talking about herself”

That all happened just a few years ago.


Did I care then?

Yes.

Were there more tears?

Also yes.

But I kept going.

That resilience and grit means:

→ I’ve helped thousands of people break free of jobs they hate and build businesses they love.

→ I’ve made over $100k in the last 4 weeks alone.

→ I get to go surf after writing this even though it’s 11am on a weekday.

But still, 

more people judge me today than they did when I started.

Many more are laughing.

The difference is that now I don’t care.

I was today years old when I realised,

most of the rules about starting a business
were made up by random white dudes on the internet.

You can actually just… 

Start.

It’s been just over a week since I launched my second online business Sitting Pretty Agency. 

We’re already about to hit capacity.

I estimated ten clients in the first month.

Onboarded my team accordingly.

And now, one week in, I’m hiring and training new people.

Because those first ten spots are almost gone.

There was a gap for done-for-you LinkedIn inbound services.

So, I filled it.

Most people overcomplicate business.

Because that’s what we’re taught to do.

They build complex systems to an offer 

↱ before finding out if anyone even wants it.

They spend hours designing a logo before knowing what will convert their audience.

Everything is built based on guesses instead of proof.

I don’t do that.

And now, you won’t either.

Next time you spot a need, don’t overthink it.

Don’t listen to all the dudes, 
doubt yourself, 

Then end up doing nothing.

Build something small.

Test it.

If it works, scale it.

If not, move on.

If you’re not a tiny bit mortified

(you’re probably not doing it right).

The first time I posted a video, I deleted it four times because I was so nervous.

Telling my family I was not going to take that promotion and was starting an online business instead felt like walking into school n@ked.

Even though every single offer I release flies off the shelves I still feel like I want to vomit on launch day.

Why on earth do I keep doing it then?

Putting myself through the utter turmoil that is building a successful personal brand.

Because every move that has paid off started with a healthy dose of 

“oh my gosh, what am I doing?”

Whether you like it or not, the stuff that scares you is usually the stuff that grows you.

So I urge you to sit with the cringe.

Then do it scared.

Nothing iconic ever started with “I felt totally chill about it.”

Has your business coach actually built a business

(or just a carbon copy of their own coach’s)?

When you hire a mentor, look at the strategy.

Not the lifestyle.

Not the glossy photos.

Not the “I made 100k in a weekend” content.

😎 Guilty as charged … I post that too.

But (big but) it is always alongside content that breaks down how.

Because a vague funnel map and a tapping ritual is not enough to grow your business.

You need someone who has:

→ Scaled teams.

→ Launched offers similar to yours that have sold.

→ Delivered results that aren’t just their own.

Before you invest, ask:

→ What’s their background in the thing you need help with?

→ Can they actually explain how they got their results?

→ Have they built something beyond the coaching model they were taught?

You’re allowed to expect more than income screenshots.

You’re allowed to invest in someone who teaches from experience.

Not just hype.

Choose someone who’s actually walked it.

Not someone who just knows how to sell it.

If you’re trying to go viral on LinkedIn you’re doing it wrong.

To go viral you need to please the masses.

To make money you need to please your target audience.

I’ve had posts do hundreds of thousands of views.

Nice for the ego, not what pays the bills.

What does?

Systems.

One of my clients had fewer than 1,000 followers,

I taught her inbound marketing. 

Within a week she had her first sale and 15 warm conversations in her DMs.

Post to make money first, then once you’re rolling in dough worry about going viral.

The challenge itself is full and oversubscribed, 

if that isn’t proof enough this system works…

I don’t know what is.

I don’t hate sales calls.

I hate pointless ones.

(the ones where someone books because they’re bored, not because they want help)

I’d wager you don’t have a sales problem.
You have a standards problem.

You jump on calls with anyone who shows the slightest pulse.

You let complete strangers take up thirty minutes of your day.

You spend half the call trying to work out what the person even wants.

I did it too.

Until I built my One Call Close Method:

1. Build rapport so the call starts human and grounded (not awkward).

2. Set the frame so you stay in control and they follow your lead.

3. Diagnose with precision so you uncover the real problem.

4. Reflect the truth back so they hear their own gap out loud and take it seriously.

5. Present the path so clearly that the decision feels obvious.

6. Handle objections by asking questions. 

Then, most importantly, take the payment on the call. 

You probably don’t need more calls.

You just need to stop accepting the wrong ones.

My friend’s parents used to call me “The Influence”

(not in a good way).

I was *that* girl.

→ The one sourcing the IDs.

→ The reason someone came home with a nose ring… 

or didn't come home at all.

I was too loud.

Too opinionated.

Too persuasive.

And yet…

That exact energy is growing a 7-figure online business.

Turns out being ‘too much’ just means you’re a leader no one saw coming.

Getting fired was the best thing that ever happened to me.

In 2020 I got fired from a copywriting job for a project management company.

I was dyslexic and had to Google what project management was before the interview.

So the outcome didn’t surprise me.

But I’d taken the job because it was remote and the salary gave me butterflies.

Before you think it, 

this isn’t another story of getting fired then rising from the ashes and immediately being a massive success.

It took me a whole year and taking on yet another marketing job to muster the courage to say goodbye to:

→ my £50k salary

→ holiday pay

→ and the ‘stability’ a full time position offered

On the day I got fired my ego was hurt

(and I felt like a total idiot for taking the job in the first place).

But I was also massively relieved because I knew there was more meant for me.

In January 2022 I finally started to uncover what ‘more’ meant and committed to doing whatever it took to get it.

In two weeks I had 3 consulting clients. 

2 from referral and one cold lead who’d found me through my content.

Since then I’ve been consistently fully-booked for one-to-one and have a waiting list of women from countries around the world.

Switzerland, UK, Australia, Costa Rica, Canada, US, Spain.

Literally everywhere.

How do so many women hear about me?

Because of what my team and I do behind the scenes.

1. Semantic content stacking

↱ Train the algorithm to recognise you as the go-to in your niche by using language in your posts that your ideal clients actually use.

2. Behavioural scoring

↱ Track who is interacting with your content and profile, then use that to build a relationship with them.

3. Acting on that behaviour 

↱ Go to your connections and message every single person who is an ICP but you haven’t started a conversations with yet.

(make sure all messages are 25% different from one another so you don’t get in trouble with the LinkedIn g0ds)

Everyone’s obsessed with playing the algorithm.

But it’s what you do behind the scenes that actually makes money.

If your strategy ends in the DMs, it was never a strategy.

That was the subject line of her email.

And yet?

Everyone opened it.

Marie Forleo sent it.

The email looked like a mistake.

But it wasn’t.

It was a pattern interrupt.

Because Marie knows you’re numb to polished copy.

And you scroll straight past loud, fake urgency.

So she made you feel like you caught her slipping.

The brain has to close the loop.

In 2021 I 4x’d my corporate salary.

I went from SEO specialist and writer for a tech startup to a Full Stack Marketing Executive in less than a year.

I equipped myself with all the tools I needed to earn more.

A lot more.

The issue was, I was still working for other people.

Imagine earning someone else $1.2 million dollars cash in just 3 months then taking home a yearly salary of $50k.

So, at 28 and at the peak of my marketing career I quit.

I took the big leap and started my own online business.

I began teaching entrepreneurs the strategies that had made the big companies I had worked for millions.

Now, a few years later, I am unapologetically living the life I dreamed of.

I live in Bali.

I earn more money than I could have ever imagined.

I work when I want, how I want, and, most importantly, with who I want.

How not to sabotage your entire business this Black Friday.

(and still make a tonne of money).

They discount the offers that actually require their time.

Private calls.
