Washington Small Business Development Center (SBDC)

I advise businesses 1-1 on cash flow analysis, loan procurement, marketing strategies, operations and more. I utilize CRM systems to track metrics and generate reports for leadership quarterly. I develop and maintain stakeholder relationships to build and retain a client base. I aid startups in procuring funding and creating successful business plans. In 2020, 21, 22, I assisted in local capital infusion of over $1,000,000.

Marketing Strategist
I specialize in marketing strategies for established businesses. I teach businesses to identify their core value offering. Then I assist in creating a marketing strategy that aligns their value message with their website, social media, and email marketing. I make suggestions for various ways to engage audience members with calls to actions.

Key connector and presenter
I am one of the key State presenters for the Washington SBDC. I present on business and marketing topics. Since I began presenting with my colleague Julia Lara, we have 100-200% increase in our State’s marketing webinar attendance. I have also aided Labor and Industries to create webinars and slides that would better connect to their audience. I train several of our advisors on best practices for presenting webinars. I presented 50 webinars in 2020.

In 2019 I helped organize the WA SBDC in-person professional development that takes place over 2 days. I approached leadership with fresh ideas of how to create stronger relationships internally. I developed a multi faceted ice breaker activity for 60 people and worked with a team of 4 people to help realize it.  The end result was many colleagues saying that it was the best professional development our organization has had. I am often consulted by my leadership on how to build greater community among colleagues for our internal events.

Created an online conference for private school marketers. Created a navigable website that communicates value for my audience, writing and scheduling segmented emails that engage my readers, staying versed in my analytics so I can improve processes as needed, and connecting with stakeholders that can help me reach my audience. 

Project Management:
Recruited top industry speakers for the School Marketing Summit (SMS).
Organized timely delivery of content for the conference.
Created content guidelines to ensure alignment with brand messaging.
Managed a team of 3 responsible for website, automations, emails/communications, and payment links.

Stakeholder and Speaker Relationships:
Established FB Groups for Summit speakers to engage and build enthusiasm.
Produced regular posts and videos to deliver value and reinforce purpose.
Scheduled over 40 emails to maintain relationships and provide updates.
Success:All speakers delivered content on time and found high value in participating.

Connected with Archdiocese groups, school consortiums, and well established school software and website companies to partner and share the Summit information with their constituents.

In 10 weeks, I created a navigable website with clear Call to Actions.
I hired a contractor to execute my web designs. I delivered wireframe designs with clear color palette outlines, all copy, and images.
Monitored website and email analytics. Improved processes and copy accordingly.

Social Media
Developed a marketing timeline to recruit school administrators to engage them with SMS.
Created on-brand social media posts. Had a shared folder that speakers could access and download files.
Developed promotional videos with speakers to promote SMS. Made short videos for social media.
Developed a means for using video content across multiple platforms (social media, video etc) to maximize time.

I published the singular magazine for secondary private schools in Los Angeles.

Project management
Planned yearly schedules for marketing, recruitment, and printing.
Made separate goals and targets for each aspect of the business.
Planned a yearly budget and advertising targets.
Made sponsor deadlines and mapped out communication means for strategically gathering data.
Tracked best advertising methods to maximize our advertisers’ investment.

Blog writing and social media
Collected school stories to share on social media and 3 websites.
Advised schools on best practices in blog and media writing in order to have a coherent message on our various news outlets of the LA Private School Guide.
Edited/wrote weekly blog and social media posts for parents on the private school offerings in Los Angeles.
Oversaw a team to manage magazine layout and social media and blog presence.
Planned and posted 80% of social media posts in 10 days. Edited and oversaw all images for posting.

Designed magazine and website as an information source for prospective parents on the private schools in L.A.
Coordinated and planned data collection for 30+ advertising schools.
Ranked #1 on Google for private school searches within 6 months of going live.
