This month's our team is rallying hard together to crush our Q4 goals.

Jason Bay, this is very sad coming from you.

I had some respect for you, although you've been promoting Orum 🥇for years.

Is your post today driven by genuine belief, or is it because Orum may not be sponsoring you? I honestly can’t tell - but the whole thing reads like a joke.

Here's why:

1. Nobody, nobody on planet earth that works in b2b SaaS as an SDR makes 10-15 parallel calls.

I don't even know if there's a tool that can do 15 parallel calls. This is unheard of.

Where did you get this?

2. "pick up rates get cut in half with every client" - just because it happened to your clients doesn't mean it's correct.

Here's how connect rates work:

A) On any given list, there are 20-30% contacts with unreachable phone numbers. Even if you call them 100 times, the connects will be near 0.

B) On any given list, there are ~40% of contacts that almost never answer the phone. They have working lines, but the connect rate is still low.

C) On any given list, there are ~20% contacts with valid numbers and who actually answer the phone. Most connects happen on the first call attempt, by the 5th attempt, you'll run through 80% of phone pick-uppers. From there it's naturally a downhill.

Do you build a re-enrichment process for wrong numbers?

A lot of "Good Fit, Not Now" prospects get removed from sequences and never touched again. Do you re-sequence follow-up leads? 

If not, and you are recommending 14-23 step sequences over a long time, perhaps that's why your clients are seeing low connect rates?

3. "You don't have time to prep"? 

What exactly do you need to learn about prospects before calling? Learn the name of their dog? 

It's already a standard, and most dialers show the notes, call interactions, previous emails sent, and some advanced dialers even summarize the account history with AI. 

Everything you need to learn is on the screen, and you can also preview the notes while dialing.

I don't know about your world, but in my world, telling reps to do research before calling usually results in 10 cold calls a day.

4. TitanX solves a list problem, not the problems you mentioned. You still need a dialer with 10-15 caller IDs that are remediated and auto-rotating every dial. Even TitanX guys recommend an auto dialer (FrontSpin, although it's a competitor).

Your job is at risk.

Everyone says "AI won't take your job, it'll assist you".

I think people are doing disservice by not telling the truth. 

AI is getting so good, it WILL replace a lot of jobs.

We're already seeing this in action.

Nobody wants to hire B players anymore.

An SDR making 20-30 cold calls a day, sending 20 emails won't survive.
An Engineer who takes a week to update a small feature won't survive.
A Marketer who tests 1 creative a month won't survive.

The better the AI gets, the higher the bar gets for human talent.

The demand for the top 5% human talent is already insane, while a lot of people can't find work.

There are a lot of great opps, but you need to level up.

Commit to greatness and go achieve all your goals.

You can do it.

December ≠ It's a holiday, people won't answer the phone

Last week we generated:
- 278 cold call connects
- 133 conversations
- 12 meetings

Connect rate across 3536 dials remained at 9%.

SDRs - December is short. Here’s how to still book meetings.

Step 1: Go to your CRM and pull every contact with these dispositions:
Answered → Not Interested
Answered → Follow Up
Answered → Has an Existing Solution
 (or anything similar)

These are your “good fit, not now” prospects.
Time to call them back.

Cold Call Script:

You: “Hey [Prospect Name], this is [Your Name] with Salesfinity. We spoke a few months ago about cold calling — does the name Salesfinity still ring a bell?”

Them: (Probably not)

You: “No worries, that’s why I’m calling. We work with teams like [insert social proof] to help reps get 8–12 cold call connects per hour.

Last time we spoke, you mentioned [insert note from previous call].
I wanted to reach out earlier this time as you plan for 2026.”

→ Then go for your CTA.

I analyzed 274,261 cold calls from the first week of December… and Santa isn’t the only one working overtime.

Here’s how December actually behaves in outbound:
- 274,261 dials
- 20,372 connects (7.4% connect rate)
- 8,093 conversations (39% of connects)
- 673 meetings booked (8.3% conversion from convo → meeting)

And the best part?
- Only 5.2% of “cold list” conversations became meetings.
- Follow-up conversations converted 2.5× higher.

December isn’t slow —
it rewards the reps who call back the people they already spoke to.
