What happens when your "v1" goes viral before you finish "v2"?  
While working with Raspberry Circle we hit a pivot point when we were designing the new character set for Emy. The original design gained so much traction on social media that it became a brand anchor.
We paused the update, but I couldn’t let this work stay hidden in a folder. I was exploring more emotional depth and exaggerated animations to really bridge the gap between user and digital pet.
We got all the way through rigging, building the start of the state machines, and animating some of the character animation states in Rive 

Rive allowed us to create one rig and with the state machine we can switch between the different characters and different clothing meaning you don’t need to create different animations for each character.

“Does anyone else feel the urge to do something with their hands?” said Kalika Sharma in a call with a bunch of cool people in Austin Saylor ‘s project 200k cohort (which I’m loving btw).

Well, I’m here to say I do this. It’s called Kigumi and it’s a miniature version of the famous Japanese woodworking method that doesn’t use nails, screws or adhesives. 

I got this little puzzle from the airport as I was leaving Japan. To be more precise, my fiancé got it for me. It sat in a corner fo a while until I started working on it a few weeks back. 

It takes a while, it’s tedious and I love it. It’s something artistic to work on when I’m not animating or working in Rive. And it gives me room to think and slow down.

If you want a short primer on Rive this is a great, quick overview about creating one of the most used types of interactions: hovering. Give Joey Judkins some love! There are lots of tutorials out there, but only a few great teachers.

A great take on the state and future of motion design from my peer and long time inspiration Emanuele Colombo .

I thoroughly enjoyed my time at M&C Saatchi Sydney as a senior motion designer working on various campaigns across different platforms for a wide range of clients such as Commonwealth Bank, BWS, Big W, Woolworths, Mindaroo, Tourism Australia, Steggles and more.

As a senior motion designer I was trusted to roll out all video and static digital assets to specification as per material index, across various cross-platform campaigns for a range of clients while aligning to the creative guidance of the art director and design director. I enjoyed working both autonomously and collaboratively to apply creative problem solving at every phase along a clearly defined pipeline from concept to delivery that I was involved in. Some of the highlights include rolling out campaigns such as:
• Big W: Santa Hands campaign which was a dynamic and technical animation combining 2D, 3D and live footage. The project was featured on Campaign Brief.
• Minderoo: Australian Resilience Corps Social Animations in response to the floods in
QLD and NSW which had recently occurred.
• CBA: Project Bolt which involved animating bespoke CBA icon animations in 3D space.
• BWS: Cool Room social Animations, fusing a live music event as a brand activation.
• BWS: Big Wonderful Summer, a fun and dynamic campaign that combined bespoke acronyms using the letters BWS to highlight different aspects of Summer BBQ, Beach and Christmas while promoting either beerm wine, spirits, cider or RTD's respectively. For eg. BBW With Spirits, Beers With Summer or Best Wine Season.

Other work I did included various static and video social media ads, TVCs, DOOH, dynamic content platforms ads, compilation videos, promotional videos, hype reels, infomercials, video for
multi-screen display, EDM gifs, infographics, brand awareness videos, concept design & animations
for pitches, pitch deck design, B2B communication videos, explainer videos, UI platform replica animations, building animation templates, asset creation and more.

During my time at DK Advertising I have worked on a range of different videos including commercials (broadcast and online), brand videos, tutorial videos, induction videos, documentary style videos, Interviews, explanation videos and various 2D animations for known brands such as Toshiba, Best Western Hotels, ATAS, OzCar, Brydens Lawyers, Timezone, BlueInc, Greenstone, AMG Mercedes Benz and more. As DK is a small agency, my work is very multi-disciplinary allowing me to see a project right through to completion, and involves motion graphics, video editing, 2D animation, colour grading, video effects, script writing, storyboard development, as well as audio for video including sound effects, track selection, liaising with sound engineers. I also take on graphic design tasks for print and digital as well as branding. As the lead motion designer and editor at DK I have learned to be very time efficient, proactive and resourceful. Some of the highlights include working on a series of 7 documentary style service videos for Toshiba, working on a series of 12 animated instore videos for Timezone, and working on a series of 6 animated tutorial videos for Best Western Hotels Rewards program.

Special Broadcasting Service (SBS) Australia

During my time in this role I have created numerous promos and broadcast graphics for all the SBS brands including SBS, SBS 2, Food Network, NITV, World Movies and On Demand across both on-air and online platforms. I also spent time working for SBS World News, creating animations and graphics as required daily which appeared on-air. My role also included creating, updating and implementing various broadcast templates for graphic elements such as lineups, end boards, credit squeezes, production boards and more across the 4 SBS channels.  I also created a social media graphics package with style guide for SBS World News,  which was created in After Effects using expressions and was then interpreted into Premier Pro as a simple and self explanatory template to be used by reporters. The graphics package is currently used by the SBS World News when uploading videos online.  I was responsible for the creation and delivery of all on-air bugs, super bugs and midsegs (animating logo’s and messaging appearing in the top and bottom corners of the screen) across all 4 SBS channels. I was also responsible for facilitating the transition of these bugs from the existing platform (Harris) to a new platform (Deluxe).  Creative projects I worked on included creating and animating a logo for an interstitial program on the Food Network, creating 2 super bug animations for the Food Network, SBS 2 Star Trek bumpers and SBS 2 brand bumpers. Other projects and campaigns I worked on included Roots, For The Love of Meat, and English Premiere League Graphics.

The aim of the iRock Entertainment Rebrand was to refresh the identity with a modern look that would prevail in both the entertainment and corporate environments. As the company had grown, it was appealing to a larger market space and needed to attract corporate sponsors.

Having worked in hospitality for many hears myself, its always been a dream of mine to rebrand a bar. I understand the needs of the business on an intricate level, which assisted me in my direction of the rebrand. Starting with researching and analysing the brand, I conducted a brand audit and prepared mood boards for signage, typography, venue artwork, theme and decore, imagery, logos and photography. I created a new logo which I designed by hand, that had a similar casual beachy feel to the original logo to maintain recognition. I then expanded the design elements from the logo into various print and digital collateral including posters for events, menus for food, wine and cocktails as well as wall mounted menu boards , table talkers, rooftop banner as well as social media and other digital applications.

Design of a 74 page User Manual for the Mercury Cafe Racer including technical drawings.

During my time at Persona Studio, I designed a 74 page user manual for the Mercury Cafe Racer motorbike. The work included technical drawings drawn in illustrator, manipulating images in photoshop, proof reading content (coming from the bike engineers in China), corresponding with engineers to clarify technical information, presenting content in an interesting way.
