After 1 week in Dubai I can tell you - it’s NOT about the Tax saving for me! Let me explain…😎

I came out last Sunday with a fairly empty diary but an intention to experience life here and to see what would show up. 

What showed up has been just 🤯

I’ve got to meet amazing people who are ambitious, generous and growth minded. 

Including CEO’s running Global businesses and brands who were approachable and open to chat. 

This place moves Fast - it’s always changing, always innovating and trying to get better. 

I like that because we are all a work in progress…

Nothing seems impossible to people here! 

Well just look at what they’ve built in the last 30yrs 

People WANT to meet. Over a coffee or food (big thing here) to get to know you. Trust is definitely about FaceTime in this culture. 🤝

They want to understand why you are here and what your goals are to see if there is an opportunity to do business. 

If not they seem very willing to introduce you to people who can help you - after all everybody here is somewhere else. 

It’s why it feels like it’s a level playing field for Entrepeneurs. 

I get being an employee here is a different experience, and yes there are challenges with pollution and traffic…but trust me a morning swim washes all that away very quickly. 😂

In all the meeting I’ve had very few people bring up Tax. I mean let’s not kid ourselves 9% Corporstion Tax is a heck of a lot better than 26% in the UK!!

Would I live here full time? Not yet…as I love the UK but I just wish we could import some of the positive energy from here right now…🙏🏼

I can’t wait to get back in Feb for our first CEO Boardroom and to show clients the abundance of opportunities here. 

I may even be able to persuade Sue Avins to come back in Jan as she loves a great pool 😉

Yesterday Nicola Anderson and I attending an excellent event hosting by British Chamber of Commerce here in Dubai.

The Networking was NEXT Level! 🤝

I’ve already booked 3 Amazing guests for my Podcast when I’m back in the New Year 🤩

We also go to learn from Nada Jammoul Messaikeh, DBA, CPA about how Leadership is changing in the new work world of Ai and Teams

The event was excellent and I highly recommend adding some of the other Mastermclasses they run here as it was value packed and positive. 

Every time you want to move into a new market, or new industry make sure you spend time Investing in building the Network - First. 

Here are mr top 5 Tips for attending events like this:

1) Set clear intentions and goals for attending - you get what you focus on 😉 

2) Turn up early and meet the hosts. Ask them who would be good for you to meet up with.

3) Make sure you have your “30 second pitch” down so you can hook people’s attention and curiosity to know more.

4) Connect with everybody you meet on LinkedIn and send them a personal message. 

5) Take actions on the opportunities presented within 72 hrs

At times it can all feel a little exhausting and overwhelming. 

Which is why at times I feel this my go to is to invest in my Body to help it Recharge and Recover. 

In the last 2 days I’ve been to see my Sport Physio Nathan then on to see Zed Mountford-Hill at the amazing Ntrizen Wellness Centre in Milton Keynes.

After my recent Blood Tests from him I’m having regular IV’s of Vitamin D/C and NAD injections so my cells can recover even in the dark winter nights. 

If you Body is exhausted your Mind will make poor emotional decisions which will set you back and may cause you more stress and worry. 

My suggestion? 

💜 Slow down and listen to your body 
💜 Invest time in nature as it’s got healing properties and feeds the soul - move more! 
💜 Build a Wellness Support Team around you 
💜 Budget to invest in your body and your mind
💜 Eat more healthy foods to fuel you up

Because as the sign says - Wellness comes from Within 😎

Building gloveglu has been one of the most exciting (and occasionally chaotic!) journeys of my life. 

We’ve taken an idea, turned it into a global brand, shipped products to keepers in more countries than I can sometimes remember, and pushed through every high and low that comes with scaling.

But here’s the truth: even after all these years, you never outgrow needing someone in your corner.

Yesterday I posted about being impatient with November sales — founder brain in full swing. Within minutes, my business coach - Paul Avins messaged me:
“Is there something deeper going on?”
“Can I help?”
“Are YOU ok?”

Then he sent me something that stopped me in my tracks:

“What are your daily shots and standards?”

And that’s the real heart of it. 

gloveglu didn’t grow because we crossed our fingers and waited for a good month. 

It grew because of habits, standards, and a team that keeps showing up — even when the numbers test your patience.

He reminded me of a formula I’ll be keeping front and centre:

Commitment + Capability × Consistency = Cash Flow

Simple. Brutal. True.

Having a coach who genuinely cares — not just about gloveglu’s performance but about me as a human behind it — is a game-changer. 

Someone who checks in before things slide. 
Someone who challenges my thinking. 
Someone who helps keep the emotional dips from becoming operational ones.

If you’re running a business, especially a fast-moving brand like ours, get someone in your corner who pushes you, supports you, and calls you out when needed.

It doesn’t make you weaker.
It makes you sharper.
And in this game… sharpness wins.
