Felt a little unique since he’s starting in January versus the typical “August.” 

After getting him settled…

Doing a WalMart run…

And grabbing a burger for lunch…

-> We encouraged him to not come home for the first month if he can help it. 

Transitions are hard enough.

And holding the tension between embracing a new reality and new opportunities…

Alongside wanting to go back to what’s comfortable and familiar…

That’s all part of the growth process.

“First times” are always the hardest.

But eventually they stop being the first time, and they become normal.

For our son…I’m not sure who was more nervous about us leaving yesterday…him or us. 

But he’s a phenomenal kid. 
A good friend.
A hard worker.
And a faithful guy.

Can’t wait to watch him grow up even more over the coming months.
