CIO for SEEK Asia - the leading online employment business in South East Asia consisting of jobsDB and JobStreet with a presence in 7 countries: Hong Kong, Singapore, Indonesia, Malaysia, Thailand, Vietnam and Philippines. I led talent in 8 countries (we also had a satellite office in Shenzhen, China) and was responsible for the IT for all offices in each of these locations, the data centers, our cloud footprint, IT governance & risk, Cybersecurity, Data Privacy. I also was responsible for product development as this role included Chief Technology Officer responsibilities. I led an overall group of ~200 staff, the majority of whom focused on software development across SEEK Asia's candidate and hirer product platforms. We developed entirely new candidate customer experiences which replaced the existing experiences for both the JobsDB and Jobstreet brands whilst holding our leading market positions. The new experiences were a significant uplift in being mobile-first, SEO competitive and secure. We scaled these experiences to millions of candidates across the region.

I was an organizer of Big Data Malaysia and grew the group to ~8000 members. We ran regular meetups which often exceeded 200 attendees, produced reports on the state of Big Data in Malaysia, collaborated with industry, education and government sectors, facilitated information collection and provide content curation for the benefit of the Big Data industry in Malaysia and for Malaysian businesses leveraging advances in technology and data ubiquity for more effective decision-making.
