Five months ago I made "the worst acquisition of my life." Today we crossed $10M ARR (Bootstrapped). Here's what everyone got wrong about buying a broken product.

I acquired InboxAutomate in June.

The product was broken. Revenue declining. Tech was a disaster. Customer complaints everywhere.

Every advisor told me the same thing: "Walk away. This is going to destroy you."
I bought it anyway.

Here's what they didn't see:

The infrastructure space needed something nobody was building.
Not another player cutting corners. Not another platform selling edu panels and fake accounts.

Something real. Built right. From the ground up.

So that's what we did.

Month one: Rebranded to InboxKit. Rebuilt the entire tech stack from scratch.

Month two: Started getting rock solid traction.

Month five: $10M ARR.

We built around three principles:

Authenticity - Official Google Workspace and Microsoft 365 accounts only. No edu panels. No non-profits. No legacy workarounds. Ever.

Deliverability - Customers don't pay for mailboxes. They pay for emails that land in primary and drive ROI. Everything we build serves that goal.

Simplicity - Easy purchasing. Clean API integration. No technical headaches.
While competitors were selling shortcuts, we were building infrastructure that survives crackdowns.

While the industry was loud on LinkedIn, we stayed quiet and focused on three things: product, partners, and customer service.

The result?

Zero customers impacted across multiple Google crackdown waves.
Agencies migrating from the "biggest players" to us.

$10M ARR in five months.

The advisors who told me to walk away? They are pumped to be a part of this journey now.

Frank Sondors 🥓 and I compete for the same customers.

Same space. Same market. Same everything.

We should be guarded. Protective. Playing defense.

Instead, yesterday I told him: "Frank, I'm going to copy that move you just made."

Most competitors would say: "Cool, good luck with that."

Frank said: "Yeah, do it. But we could have executed better. Here's what we learned. When you try it, make sure you handle this part differently or you'll hit the same issue we did."

I stared at my screen for a minute.

Who does that?

Then I remembered that this is just who Frank is.

Back when we first connected, I was cautious. Feeling him out. Trying to figure out his angle.

Frank: "Listen, I'm open source, man. Ask me anything."

Me: "Sure..." (thinking: yeah right)

Turns out he wasn't joking.

His repo just doesn't exist on GitHub. It exists in real conversations where he's genuinely helping you win.

This guy has a contagious go-getter attitude like nothing is impossible.

Constantly checking in: "You good?" "Business doing alright?" "How's the team holding up?"

First person to congratulate me on the smallest milestones.

Never holds back honest advice, even when it would benefit him to stay quiet.

I call him "Big Brother" and its obvious why.

Because that's exactly what he's been in this industry.

The one who makes you believe you can actually pull off the impossible thing you're attempting.

Here's what Frank taught me about competition:

The best competitors don't make you paranoid.

They make you better.

They don't see your wins as their losses.

They know that rising tides lift all boats, and two strong players prove the market is real.

Competition doesn't have to be war.

It can be two people pushing each other to raise the standard for everyone else.
