why i like Nathan Latka (even though some of you don't) 

Some of you might not like that he’s too loud 
He asks for comments on his post 
He sends a million texts 
He asks a gazillion dollars to meet him at events 

People think that’s too loud 
I say.... that’s not enough 

Here’s why 

All his content is 🔥

He is very mindful of the value he provides with his data and product 
He’s very mindful of his network 
He helps amplify all founders that do great things 
I always find value in what he shares 
I find that he helps the ecosystem grow together 

For example:
He funded Joel Ohman at Exercise.com at $50k of MRR in 2021 via his fund Founderpath
He funded Joel 19 more times totalling $3.5m
Joel bootstrapped using Nathan's money and got "massive" personal liquidity event last week when he exited

He brings value to everyone he meets

When Nathan asked me that question on our recent webinar on whether you should go the VC route or bootstrap, it highlighted a very important theme about the ability to take risks in this start up journey.

Yes, financial stability changes how you think about risks, but not in the way people often assume.

It doesn’t mean you suddenly become fearless. It means you can afford to be deliberate.

At 25, your risk appetite might be healthy - coming from youth, energy, and fewer obligations. At 40, it might come from experience, financial security, and knowing which bets are worth making.

But at the end of the day, the risk doesn’t disappear. It just looks different.

You still worry, about people, outcomes, trade-offs. You still wake up thinking about all the things that might break. You still have to earn the right to build something meaningful.

That part doesn’t change. And I don't think it ever will.

I landed one of the top podcasts, and it happened because I helped luck.
Last month I attended SaaSiest for the first time.
Earlier that day, I spotted Nathan Latka at the conference.

He was giving a talk at the conference and was naturally surrounded by people the entire time.

I didn’t target him.
I didn’t chase him.
I just stayed present.

Later that evening, I ended up sitting with the event organizers… and he happened to be right there with us.

The connection happened naturally. We had a quick, easy chat.
I invited him to visit Israel.
Told him about our crazy-strong startup scene. Even pointed him to a relevant connection. I created value for him before asking for anything.

Toward the end of the event there was a poker tournament.
In that relaxed environment, I finally said:
“I’d love to join your podcast.”
He said: “Sure, let’s connect.”

My friend and mentor Gil Ben-Artzy of UpWest has a line I always repeat:
 “You need to stay in the way of luck.”

There’s a reason Silicon Valley founders seem so much “luckier.”
They’re constantly in the right rooms, bumping into the right people, at the right time.

You can recreate that wherever you live, you just need to stay in the way of luck.
