Screen time isn't the ultimate solution

Don’t wait for perfect conditions. Run anyway.
That’s what I told myself, stepping outside at -10°C, long before the sun was up.

As a mum of 3-year-old twins, mornings are usually about everyone else. Schedules, snacks, getting through the day. 

This run wasn’t about fitness goals or speed. It was about doing one hard thing for myself before the noise started.

The cold was too much; with every step, my head felt clearer.
It reminded me of something I’ve learned the hard way. Strength isn’t built in big moments. It’s built when you show up, even when it’s uncomfortable.

I’m Carolin. A working mum who tried to do it all alone and learned that support matters. Now I help parents connect with certified experts so family life feels calmer and less stressful.

Do you ever feel like no matter what you do, it’s never enough?
 
That quiet (and sometimes loud) voice of mom guilt shows up when you’re working, resting, setting boundaries, or simply trying to get through the day.

The truth is, there’s no single “right” way to be a mom. Letting go of guilt starts with noticing it, questioning it, and reminding yourself that your kids don’t need perfection. 

They need you, present, trying, and learning along the way.

That’s why I’m creating a space where parents can get real support, learn from trusted parenting experts, and feel less alone in these moments. Because parenting is hard, and none of us should have to figure it out by ourselves.

They say you can talk to kids calmly without raising your voice.
Sure… in books.

In real life, I’ve tried everything, and they still don’t listen until I repeat it 17 times.

Why do kids only hear us when it’s inconvenient? 😆

From one generation to another.

My twins recently started playing with their “new” toys. But these toys were once mine. Taken out of the cellar, cleaned with love, wrapped carefully, and passed on.

Watching them play was emotional. The same toys I held as a child were now in their little hands. New laughs. New stories. Same joy.

They don’t know where the toys came from. They don’t know the memories behind them. They just know how happy they feel while playing.

And for me, that meant everything.

Some things don’t get old.
They just find their way back… with even more love. 🤍

Nothing wakes a child faster than realizing you left the bed. 
 
They were asleep. You tiptoed out. Everything was fine… until it wasn’t.

If bedtime feels like a high-stakes escape mission, you’re not alone.

I’m on a mission to create a space where parents can share moments like these, learn from experts, and feel a little more supported through the chaos. 

Because parenting shouldn’t feel like a solo job.

The balance everyone talks about? It’s not real.
 
Being a working mom feels more like a swing than a straight line. Some days you win at work, some days you win at home, and most days you’re just doing your best to keep going.

And that’s okay. Balance isn’t about doing it all at once. It’s about showing up where you’re needed, one day at a time.

Parenting is doing a lot… just to avoid doing more.

The thought of setting things up for even a small outing makes you question the choice, and your mind pushes to cancel just by calculating the amount of extra work.

Why is staying home starting to feel like the real win? 😂

Being a mom means half your thoughts stay in your head.

The other half gets lost somewhere between snacks, questions, and “Mom! Mom! Mom!”

Their ignoring power is unmatched when they’re busy doing something not so important. 😅
 
Incoming calls? Completely ignored. YouTube on my phone? Full focus, no distractions.

Why do kids have this level of selective attention?

Personal space? Never heard of her. 😅
 
My twins believe we need to be within arm’s reach at all times. Bathroom, work, five steps away… doesn’t matter.

Is anyone else being followed around all day, too?

Every toddler parent starts confident… and learns fast. 
 
You think you’ve got it figured out, then toddlers remind you who’s really in charge. From sleep myths to snack rules, these rookie mistakes humble us all real quick.

This is what a working mom’s brain looks like on any random day.
 
Half thinking about work. Half thinking about kids. And somehow also remembering laundry, dinner, daycare messages, and all the feelings in between.

Being a working mom isn’t about choosing one role over the other. It’s carrying both at the same time. 

The guilt, the pride, the planning, the constant mental load. We switch hats all day, every day, without a pause button.

If your mind feels full before the day even starts, you’re not failing. You’re just doing a lot, and doing it well.

This is your reminder, working moms. 💛
 
You don’t have to choose one version of yourself. You can love your work, love your kids, take breaks, set boundaries, and still be doing a great job.

Some days will look different than others, and that’s okay. 

Growth after motherhood isn’t about doing more. It’s about doing what fits this season.

I spent 20 minutes setting everything up so I wouldn’t have to play, and somehow I still ended up being the activity.

Because in our house, Christmas packaging became a full event.

My tiny helping hands took over the Christmas tree first. Ornaments weren’t just hung; they were carefully selected.

Then came the gifts. Oh, their cute little packages stole the Christmas spotlight. Not because they looked perfect. But because they were full of care, excitement, and love.

Watching them create, concentrate, and help reminded me what this season is really about. It’s not the wrapping.
It’s the hands. The heart. The moments in between.

And honestly, no perfect packaging and decoration can beat that. 🎄✨

Already at school I was fascinated about logical connections and absorbed the content of every math lesson. Each new formula was for me like another spell for Hermione from "Harry Potter". Through a book I learned how to create a website when I was 11 years old. My enthusiasm for programming was born, especially for visual effects and the maker culture: I like to combine crafting and software development for creative use of technology.

Armed with a bachelor's and a master's degree in "IT Systems Engineering" from the renowned Hasso Plattner Institute, I have authored three non-fiction books in the field of computer science. My accomplishments include securing a spot on the "Forbes Under 30" list, emerging victorious in numerous hackathons, and receiving honors such as the "Zeiss Women Award" and the "Young Engineering Award" as well as various scholarships throughout my journey. My bachelor thesis at the Chair of Computer Graphical Systems dealt with rendering methods for mixed reality and was awarded by National Informatics Society (GI) and ARD/ZDF's Award for Women + Media Technology. In the context of hackathons I have already co-developed numerous apps that have won awards such as "National Multimedia Award (mb21)".

As a woman thriving in the male-dominated IT industry from a working-class background, I have defied the odds and successfully secured positions at major tech companies. I am committed to fostering opportunities for others to pursue careers in IT. This passion is evident in my leadership of programming workshops for children and teenagers across Germany, as well as in my involvement in online and summer courses.
