I’m Nick—an educator, technologist, and social entrepreneur with 20 years of experience in global development, tech for good, and social innovation.

Nick’s Take: Very excited about this one. With so much turmoil in the sector this year with the global aid freeze, we’ve been in close touch with our partners at the Endless Foundation and felt strongly that this was the right moment to launch something substantial.  The goal is to bring fresh, creative, and practical ideas to organizations trying to pivot, while also honoring how hard this work actually is.

Community matters here. New skills matter. New networks and access to more diverse funding options matter. And this accelerator is meant to bring all of that together.

You’ll notice the structure: an open six-week portion where as many orgs as possible can join, learn, and experiment. And then a deeper, more applied phase you can apply for orgs who want want hands-on coaching, deeper guidance, more skills training, and exposure to new funders and clients. We want this to be both accessible and genuinely useful.

Opportunity Alert: Relationship Building Session!!!

Trying something fun next month with my friend Caroline Ouwerkerk... a little spin on her signature Happy Hour(kerk) series, but this time we’re bringing it inside Kolab.

• Responsible for the establishment of Document Control
 Procedure. The document control procedure shall 
 include drawing schedule control procedure, document 
 submittal and receipt procedure, secrecy observation 
 procedure, document status indication procedure etc. with 
 Oracle Primavera expedition.

• Liaison with the project team member for preparation of all 
 technical submissions. Ensure all submissions are 
 submitted in timely manner , appropriate approval/rejection 
 are obtained and formally recorded and that changes and 
 revisions are managed as part of document control process. 

• Keep track of all documents correspondences and 
 transaction. Maintain and update all document registers. 

• Control of issue and receipt of all documents and drawings 

• Monitor and update any change and modification to the 
 technical documents. Highlight any deviation 
 to Engineering manger for attention.

• Liaison with project team for the preparation of presentation 
 materials if necessary.

Document Controller - Drainage Networks Design Dept.

One of the key responsibilities of a secretary is to organize and schedule meetings according the 'Company Act'. Also have the duty to inform the board of directors and stakeholders about the meeting and its agenda. The secretary has to make a detailed note of the proceedings of the entire meeting. This includes documenting the activity and the matters discussed during the meetings by writing down the minutes. Along with the minutes, they also have to maintain the attendance log. Once the meeting is over, the minute records have to be filed properly for further reference.

1. Keep complete, accurate records of all meetings of the   Executive Board and the Association.
2. Provide copies of previous business meeting(s) to all members at current business meeting. 

4. Conduct such correspondence as the Executive Board may direct. 

5. Preserve the records of all meetings of the Association with records of the past two years going to  successor. All other records go to the Historian. 

Additional responsibilities include:-

1. Record minutes of all board and Association meetings and send copies of the minutes and   attachments to the executive board and historian. Responsible for typing, reviewing, approving, and duplicating minutes for all board meetings. 

2. Send copies of all correspondence to the president and president-elect. File a copy of all correspondence.

3. Bring copies of the minutes of prior meetings to all board meetings for reference. 

4. Present the secretary's report at all business meetings. 

5. Submit budget requests to the treasurer by the designated deadline. 6. Secure copies of all reports for the files. 

7. Meet with newly elected secretary to discuss duties (at end of the second year of term). 

8. Send minutes that are over five years old to the association's historian.

The 20WPC consists of Six (6) types of sessions and the Digital Poster Plaza. Each session has its own setup and AV (Audio/Visual) and sound system requirements. The importance and the name of the sessions are as follows: 

• Plenary Session 
• Ministerial Session

• Round Table 
• Forum 
• Special Session 
• Digital Poster Plaza (Posters) 

Tasks:- 

• Check the venue Setup 
• Check the names of the speakers and sets their seats at 
   the coffee tables 
• Make sure that the first Row is reserved ONLY for the 
   speakers 
• Check the AV system in all rooms. (Microphones, 
   projectors, lights and sound, laptops, if Presentations are 
   ready, timer). 
• Photographers 
• Make sure that speaker will be on time as scheduled (15 
   min. before his/her allocated time) 
• Escort the speaker form the VIP speaker room to the 
   allocated room 
• Introduce yourself to the speaker (s), explain your role as 
   Student Programme Volunteer, and let them know that you 
   are here to offer assistance when needed. 
• Fix the Lapel Mics before the session start. 
• Time control of each presentation. 
• Escort back the speaker to the VIP speaker room.

Congress Programme Assistant (Volunteer) - The 20th WPC - Doha

Job Role:

Check In:-
1. Front desk clerks greet guests upon arrival to the hotel, access
their information in the computer system, retrieve their reservation
information, secure a credit card for incidental expenses and provide
guests with their keys.

Communication:-
2. In some hotels, front desk clerks serve as the intermediaries
between guests and other departments in the hotel, relaying requests
to the bell captain, valets and housekeeping.

Administrative Duties:-
3. Front desk clerks answer telephones, schedule reservations and
transfer callers to guest rooms. They also take messages and distribute
mail both to guests and employees of the hotel.

Customer Service:-
4. Front desk clerks answer guests' questions concerning hotel
facilities and the hotel's surrounding areas. They also provide
assistance in handling customer complaints, involving management as
necessary. Sometimes they make reservations for entertainment and
dining on behalf of guests as well.

Billing and Checkout:-
5. Front desk clerks often compile bills for hotel stays and handle
checkout, where they accept final payment and ensure that keys are returned.
