I remember when I got my first job. More than nerves or even excitement, the number one emotion? Gratitude.

Cause here’s the thing. Any job we get is a big deal but that VERY first job we get? Or at least the ones early in our career?

Those managers saw something in us. 
They took a chance on us. 
They believed in us.

And that means something.

The people I admire the most at work do one thing really really well: 
They figure it out.

I’ve had leaders put me in situations I didn’t think I could do, seemed underqualified for, and kindly pushed me. And guess what? I’ve never grown more in my career.

Growth happens when we’re not sure if we can and do it anyways.
Growth happens when someone believes in us and supports us.
Growth happens when we push through even in the midst of the unknown.

There’s so much talk of failure vs success and what it means to not hit the mark.

Well, it really feels like failure is the choice to not even try at all.

I’m curious to understand your strategy for accepting requests on here.

Over the past few years, I have reached the limit of 30k connections (not followers) and since then I’ve had to disconnect with people.

My criteria for accepting/disconnecting - is simple - could we partner in some way in the future? If the answer is no, then I have to disconnect or not accept the request.

Good recruitment and hiring is key for success.

True recruiting story: The other day I had a fake candidate show up to an interview.

Their resume looked good, their LinkedIn the same…

Then on the call, someone completely different showed up. 🤯

Candidate fraud is a hot topic right now and a lot of companies are going to waste tons of time vetting fake candidates.

This is a lose-lose for everyone:

The company,
The candidate,
And the recruiter.
