He looked at 30K AI citations across 500 software categories to find out if more G2 reviews = more AI visibility.

The answer is a resounding yes.

10% more G2 reviews → 2% more AI citations. And the correlation holds even after controlling for category size and outliers.

“Small but reliable,” Kevin calls the relationship between G2 reviews and LLM citations. But in AI visibility, that matters more than it sounds.

#3: Publish content that prompts review moments.
→ Every time you release a new case study, customer spotlight, or feature launch, treat it as a natural excuse to ask for reviews.
Share the update with your users, then follow up with:
“Would you mind sharing your experience on G2? Here’s the link.”

#4: Ask at the right moments.
→ After onboarding, renewals, or positive support interactions.

#5: Reply to every review.
→ Gratitude builds momentum. Visible engagement attracts more reviewers.

- Google understands the intent clearly → high conversion potential.
- LLMs extract attributes easily (features, use cases, pricing) → you get included in option sets.
- Instantly positions you next to known competitors, creating “category legitimacy.”
- Helps humans + AI understand where you fit and why you’re a viable choice.

2/ THE “BEST OF” ROUNDUP

→ Title: “Top CRMs for Remote Teams,” “Best Payroll Software for Startups”
→ Key elements: Comparison tables. Pricing. Proof. Skimmable as hell. Position your product for that exact searcher, not everyone.

- These pages shape the shortlists Google and AI models refer to.
- Provide structured, skimmable data that LLMs love (name → features → pricing → who it’s for).
- Put your product in front of buyers who didn’t know you existed.
- Become repeatable sources for AI “top tools” answers.
- Create brand familiarity before anyone searches for you directly.
- Drive real conversions

3/ THE FIX POST

→ Title: “How to Do [Pain Point] Without Losing a Weekend”
→ Key elements: Start with the frustration. End with your solution.

- Targets the emotional moment that triggers the whole buying journey.
- LLMs favor practical, step-by-step, empathetic problem solving → these get cited heavily.
- Builds trust by showing you understand the frustration behind the search.
- Gives models clean explanations they can reuse in answers.
- Positions your product naturally as the solution at the end of the guide.

That’s it.

→ Every strong brand has a vocabulary its buyers recognize instantly.
→ Mirror the exact phrases your customers use so AI learns to connect your brand (not just your product) with their problems.

5/ THEY’RE CONSISTENT EVERYWHERE

→ LLMs verify credibility across ecosystems
- Clean NAP info (Name-Address-Phone)
- Consistent brand tone

The busiest time for SaaS isn’t Black Friday…

It’s Q1.

While retail gets its spike in Nov, SaaS gets it in from Jan to Apr.  
When budgets reset, execs are told to “cut tools that don’t prove ROI”, and teams rebuild their stacks.

Every SaaS buying cycle follows a rhythm:

Q1: Renewal, shortlists & vendor switches
Q2–Q3: Implementation & roll-outs
Q4: Reporting, procurement & “do we really need this?”

But now, those Q1 shortlists are written inside LLMs, not spreadsheets.

And it all depends on what you’re publishing right now. This month.

What to do about it:

→ Refresh your resources, product pages & listings
→ Seed updated content in review sites and partner ecosystems
→ Keep your product metadata clean and current: models index it faster than you think

→ stat-backed claims
→ internal experiments
→ product screenshots

Every detail trains the model on who you are and why you’re credible. If your paragraph could have been written by anyone, it’s a wasted ticket. If it could ONLY have come from your team, that’s a winning one.

Your job now: 

1. Audit your top pages
2. Strip away the generic stuff
3. Add proprietary data, quotes or stories only your brand can tell. Spill your secrets.
