A basic piece of advice no one else will give you:

Don't get bogged down in the perfection rabbit hole.

I was the same when I started out. 

Instead of actually writing, I got obsessed with finding the perfect:

- routine
- book
- underwear
- tool
- resource
- pyjamas

.. that would make me a better writer.

After wasting a shit ton of time & energy doing that, the only 5 things that helped me were:

- getting obsessed with copywriting
- handcopying posts that worked
- breaking them down
- tweaking + making them my own
- doing it everyday

That's pretty much it.

There's no sexy routine or underwear (yet) that'll improve your writing than actually getting down in the nitty gritty of it all.

So, your number one focus for now should be:

- pick a copywriting book
- study the basics
- handcopy some killer posts
- understand the frameworks
- use it in your own writing

Don't overthink too much, this is the only way you'll become a good writer.

I’m wayyy happier than this guy will ever be.

This guy’s entire premise is built on a fantasy where marriage = domestication.

Like having a partner somehow lobotomizes your ability to write compelling copy.

Brother, let me walk you through reality:

My wife isn’t yelling through the door at 11 PM.

She’s asleep. Because we communicate like adults.

I’m not writing “wholesome brand messaging” because I’m married.

I’m writing whatever the client needs.

Regardless of whatever I’m writing or working on, I know I have someone in my corner.

Someone who supports the risks I take.

Someone who believes in what I’m building.

The best copywriters I know, married, single, divorced, whatever, they all have one thing in common:

They don’t blame their relationship status for their work quality.

So you sir, clearly need some therapy and have absolutely no idea (or even a WRONG idea) of what a marriage is and how it works.

P.S. Actually, on second thought, married copywriters are pretty well known for writing generic, family-friendly copy. 

Gary Halbert, Joe Sugarman, David Ogilvy… they were all single and unmarried, right? 

RIGHT??!!!?!?!

I started writing online on January 1, 2022.

And I haven't missed a single day since.

Today marks day 1461 of writing every single day.

- some days i wrote absolute garbage
- other days i wrote stuff i'm proud of
- either way, i showed up regardless

One of the most frequent questions people ask me all the time is:

"You're so good looking Kush, what's your skincare routine like?"

But this post isn't about that, so I won't answer it here.

But another one of the questions I get asked all the time is:

"How are you so consistent?"

Like there's some secret formula or hack.

There isn't.

I just decided that writing every day mattered more than writing something perfect.

Which means:

- i've shared ideas that felt half-baked
- i've published posts i knew weren't great
- i've hit "post" on stuff that made me cringe
- but i never let "not good enough" stop me

The funny thing about writing 1461 days in a row?

Nobody actually cares about the streak except me.

What they care about is whether today's post helps them.

That's it.

So yeah, I'm proud of the consistency.

But I'm more proud that I stopped waiting for inspiration to strike and just started typing.

Turns out the secret to writing every day is... writing every day 😂

Started working with a client last month who had ZERO LinkedIn presence.

First post I wrote for him got 128 reactions.

Week 2, another post went viral with 287 reactions.

Here's what I DIDN'T do:

- Tag 50 people begging for reach
- Spend a single dollar on ads
- Jump on cringy viral trends
- Write clickbait garbage
- Use fancy graphics

While most ghostwriters are out here recycling the same hooks and carousel templates like it's a buffet...

I'm doing something INCREDIBLY simple:

Actually getting to know the guy.

1) I spent 90 minutes interviewing him first

I could've skimmed his website, fed his profile to GPT, have him answer a few questions in a google doc and called it a day.

But I didn't.

I actually hopped on a 90 minute call with him and asked him questions about his:

- Wins & Losses
- Stories & Habits
- Expertise & Client Work

The deeper I dug, the better answers I got.

2) I had him fill out a creative brief

Creative brief is like a comprehensive guide I have my clients fill out during onboarding.

It covers everything from:

- What type of content he likes
- What he doesn't like
- What he stands for
- What he stands against
- What his controversial opinions are
- What his core values are
- Who is his target audience
- His bullet point backstories through the years

The more data I have here, the more I understand him & his brand and the easier it gets for me to write his content.

Absolute non negotiable.

3) I batch wrote all his content

I don't want to keep nagging him every week to review the content I wrote for him.

So, I'd just write the entire batch of content in 5 to 7 days, have him review it and schedule it.

Boom, all done.

Most ghostwriters I know skip all of this.

They either jump straight to writing or just jump on whatever's trending and write about it.

But all of this boring stuff IS the strategy.

The interview.
The brief.
The batching.

That's what separates "content that sounds like everyone else" from "content that sounds like YOU."

You can copy trends all day long.

But you can't copy someone's story.

And that's exactly what I'm selling.

30 days ago, my client had zero LinkedIn presence.

Now, he's going to speak on public radio to 210,000 listeners.

We started posting 30 days ago.

He had zero LinkedIn presence before that.

No audience. No content history. Nothing.

This is what I keep telling people about LinkedIn.

You don't need 10,000 followers to create real opportunities.

You need to share work that resonates with the right people.

LinkedIn takes care of the distribution.

One listener saw his posts, thought they were valuable enough to pitch to a radio producer, and now he's speaking to 210,000 people.

Your content doesn't just reach your audience.

It reaches their audience too.

And their friends. And their coworkers. And sometimes, radio producers.

30 days from zero presence to speaking on public radio.

That's the leverage of consistent, quality content on this platform.

I write a month of client content (20 posts) from one 90-minute call.

Takes me around 5-7 days total.

Most ghostwriters would call that slow.

I call it thorough.

On the call, I ask them about:

- their offer
- their story
- their day-to-day life
- their contrarian opinions
- what they think about trends in their niche

Basically, I'm trying to get the most juice out of them.

Metaphorically, of course.

The thing most ghostwriters do here is just take viral frameworks, write a post for clients and call it quits.

Done. Next.

I do something similar where I take proven frameworks too.

But I also double down on the human side of things.

Making them sound more human.

WHILE getting them the results they want:

- Thought leadership positioning
- Leads for their business
- Potential investor interest
- Podcast invites

And a whole lot more.

Most ghostwriters treat content like a factory line.

Plug in framework. Add client name. Ship it.

But people don't connect with frameworks.

They connect with humans.

So when I'm writing 20 posts from that one call, I'm not just filling in templates.

I'm pulling out the way they actually talk. 

The stories they tell at dinner parties.

The opinions they're scared to say out loud but believe deeply.

That's what makes content convert.

Not another "here's 5 tips" post that sounds like everyone else.

The type of post I wrote:

A case study post.

The thing is, people post case studies all the time:

- before/after stories
- transformation posts
- client wins

Most people CAN share results.

But why do case studies feel so samey?

What needs to change to make them actually convert?

I love testing formats. 

I've worked with 30+ coaches & founders on turning their content into lead machines. I've seen what works and what flops harder than a fish on concrete.

Here's 4 ways to make the most out of a case study post that I actually use:

1) The Actionable Route

Classic before/after bridge. 

Your client was struggling with X, Y, Z...

Then after working together, they hit [specific transformation].

Walk through exactly what you did to get them there.

Simple, effective, gets the job done.

2) The Aspirational Angle

Pick one problem your ideal client is facing.

Something like "most people think posting daily is overkill," then flip it and explain why consistency actually matters.

At the end, tie it back: "By the way, my client committed to daily content and got [results]."

Makes it relatable first, proof second.

People love that.

3) The Giveaway

Same before/after structure, but add a CTA at the end: "Want the full playbook? DM me 'GROWTH' and I'll send it over."

When they DM, send your newsletter link.

Now they're in your funnel as warm leads, plus your post gets more engagement from the comments.

Win-win.

4) The Strategic Tease

Share 2-3 things from the case study, but hold back on one key piece.

Then close with something like: 

"If you want the full done-for-you system, here's a link to book a call."

Gives people a reason to take the next step instead of just scrolling past.

TL;DR:

1. Giveaway = DM funnel play
2. Actionable Route = classic before/after
3. Aspirational Angle = relatable problem first
4. Strategic Tease = hold back the good stuff

Most coaches post case studies.

But few actually get leads from them.

If your case studies aren't converting, it's not the results.

It's the format.

Try and test a few different formats, see what works & double down on it.

My client just got a sponsorship for her research report.

We didn't pitch anyone to make that happen.

They found her on LinkedIn after 4 months of consistent posting.

We started posting in August 2025.

The strategy was simple:

Mix broad topics with super-niched ones.

Broad = "3 fitness tips to lose fat"

Niched = "Fitness tips for men under 40 struggling with belly fat"

The broad stuff got her reach.
The niched stuff proved she knows her shit.

Then we started teasing her research report.

We'd pull interesting findings and turn them into posts.

End with: "Drop a comment and I'll send you the full report"

People commented. We sent it.

Here's the thing most ghostwriters miss:

We weren't just collecting emails.

We were building her reputation with every single post.

After 4 months, a sponsor reached out.

They'd been watching her content.

They could see she knows what she's talking about.

Now we're setting up the full system:

Landing page → Newsletter signup → Report

Plus we're building custom GPTs for her.

I usually charge $700-$1k per GPT.

But she's been with us for a long time, so we're throwing that in for free.

The GPTs will make her look even more like an expert in her space.

More tools = more credibility = more opportunities.

Look, not every client needs more leads.

Some need reputation first.
Some need thought leadership.
Some need credibility before anyone will buy.

And as a ghostwriter, you're responsible for all of that.

Here is the 4-step framework we used to revive his profile:

1) Bio + Banner Optimization 

Most profiles are buried under corporate jargon like "Empowering leaders to explore synergies." 

This tells a prospect absolutely nothing.

Your profile must immediately answer:

- Who you are
- What you do
- How you solve a specific problem

2) The 90-Minute "Deep Dive" Call 

Generic content is dead. 

To stand out, we stopped asking surface-level questions and started digging into his personal stories and unique methodology. 

We stopped trying to sound "professional" and started sounding like a human.

3) Strategic Connection Requests 

If you aren't daily-connecting with your Ideal Customer Profile (ICP), you’re invisible. 

When you send a request, you trigger a chain reaction:

They see the notification → They visit your profile → They see your optimized bio → They realize you’re the solution they’ve been looking for.

Pro tip: Use an "activation message" to turn a connection into a conversation immediately.

4) Low-Volume, High-Value Engagement 

You don’t need to spend 4 hours a day commenting. 

Instead, here’s what he did:

- Replying to every comment on his own posts
- Engaging with 5-10 key players in his ICP daily

This signals to the algorithm that you’re a real person, not a bot.

It's these simple steps that can:

→ Turn a ghost profile into a lead magnet
→ Fill your DMs with people who already want to buy
→ Make LinkedIn feel like a sales channel, not a chore

My daughter turns 6 months old next week.

And I finally get it when someone says:

"Time flies."

Everyone kept telling me this, and I nodded politely.

Now, I knew what they meant, but I didn't actually understand until yesterday.

I was scrolling through photos from when she was born.

I barely recognize that tiny human who knew nothing but to either cry her heart out for no reason at all & poop & pee all the time.

Now, she's already trying to sit up. Grabbing everything in sight. Recognising people, smiling at the familiar faces. Developing a personality that makes me laugh & have tiny tears of joy every day.

And that's when it hit me like a truck:

Where did the last 6 months go?

This realization is making me rethink everything lately.

How am I spending my time?

Am I more present when I'm with her?

Am I building a business she'll actually be proud of when she's older?

Or am I just busy?

There's a massive difference.

Busy is responding to every DM, taking every client call, saying yes to everything.

Building something meaningful is different.

It's creating systems that let me be present. It's saying no to opportunities that steal my attention from her.

It's making sure that when she's 16 and asks "Dad, what did you do when I was little?" I don't just say "I worked a lot."

I want to say: "I built something that mattered AND I was there for you."

Time's moving faster than I thought.

Better make it count.

They're called case study posts.

I.e talking about the results you got for your clients, all the time, ideally 2-3x per week.

"But Kush...won't people think I'm bragging?"

Nope.

You know what people actually think when they see a case study post?

"Holy shit, this person gets results."

The thing is, most people don't do them because they're not sexy. 

They won't go viral. They won't get you those likes & comments you're so addicted to.

But they do something way more important:

They make the right people slide into your DMs.

Because when someone sees:

- where they ended up (making bank, clear direction, unstuck)
- where your client started (broke, confused, stuck)
- what you did together (the process, the work)

That's not bragging.

That's proof.

And proof is what converts lurkers into buyers.

I've seen coaches post thought leadership for months and get crickets on sales calls.

Then they post ONE case study and suddenly:

"Hey, I saw your post about Sarah's results...can we chat?"

It's almost unfair how well this works.

The best part?

You don't need to be a writing genius to pull this off.

Just answer these questions:

1) Who was the client?
2) What results did they get?
3) What did you do together?
4) What problem did they have?

Boom. Case study post.

Add a screenshot of their testimonial if you've got one.

Pair those case study posts with daily connection requests to your ideal clients.

This combo is stupid effective.

Because you're not selling.

You're showing.

And when people see proof that you can help someone like them...

They don't need convincing.

They just need a conversation.

So if you're a coach sitting on client wins and not posting about them?

You're leaving money on the table.

Start posting case studies.

Watch what happens.
