At some point, you realize the “secret” of an agency.

SEO has a perception problem.

In yesterday’s workshop, we called it what it is: a “perception hangover.” 

SEO “got a bad reputation in the last three years,” and that reputation still shapes how B2B SaaS teams make investment decisions.

What we keep hearing in conversations is this split mandate:

“We want visibility in AI search (ChatGPT / Perplexity / Gemini), it’s a priority for 2026, but we’re not as interested in SEO.”

And according to the workshop, that happens for two reasons:

1) The perception hangover.

SEO’s reputation carries baggage, so teams want the outcome (AI visibility) without wanting to fund anything labeled “SEO.”

2) The SEO industry hasn’t communicated the relationship between SEO and AEO well.

There are non-overlapping parts, but there’s also a “very big overlap.” The line that stuck with me:

“You can’t have AEO without having SEO.”

The reality check we shared was also simple:

- There is a big overlap between SEO and AI search (even though they’re not the same thing).
- There’s no universal answer in AI search.
- You can influence results, but it requires a strong brand, up-to-date content, and off-site validation.
- And you shouldn’t disregard SEO, even if the internal pushback is “AEO is the priority, forget SEO.”

Back in 2024, we published Minuttia’s AI policy.

At the time, the stance was clear: no AI content creation. We supported our human writers (and still do).

Fast forward to 2026, and the market looks different.

Teams are under pressure to publish more, across more surfaces, for search engines and LLMs at the same time. Quality alone is no longer enough. Quantity alone never was. The tension sits in the middle.

Strong content still comes from people who know the category, the buyer, and the product. That part did not move. What did move is how much leverage a good system can give those people.

When you combine experienced operators with well-designed AI workflows, output compounds.

This is why we launched our AI content creation service.

- Every account has a content strategist who owns direction and prioritization. 
- A dedicated editor who protects voice, accuracy, and intent. 
- AI workflows we design, run, and maintain. 
- Briefing, research, creation, and updates are connected into one process. 
- Design included, from custom visuals to product screenshots and GIFs when it fits. 
- Quality gates at the end, including plagiarism checks, AI detection, and human review before anything ships.

AI-first. Human-approved.

That is how we approach it at Minuttia.

We are adapting, building, and shipping new systems at Minuttia to support this new era, without abandoning the standards that got us here.

We just shipped a small internal tool I’ve wanted for a while: Keyword → Prompt Generator.

Most “AI tracking” workflows break right at the start.

You either get generic prompts, inconsistent phrasing, or prompts that don’t reflect how buyers actually ask questions in ChatGPT/Claude/Gemini.

So we built our own for Minuttia - AEO Agency’s team and clients.

Here’s how it works:

- Drop in your keywords (up to 20)
- Add your website so the tool has real context
- Pick how many prompts per keyword you want (3–5)
- Add a short brand description
- Add a short target audience description

Then it generates prompts you can actually use, and tags each one with an intent label based on our internal intent framework (so you can track by “why someone asked,” not just “what they asked”).

How to track AEO without a tool?

If you don’t want to use a tool to track AEO, do this.

Short answer: assign a human to manually run prompts and copy/paste the answers.

Practical setup:

Create a spreadsheet with these columns:

- Prompts
- Platforms (ChatGPT, Perplexity, Gemini, etc.)
- Result (what it answered, did you show up, where)
- Summary (what changed vs last check)

Then:

- Check the same prompts on a schedule (weekly or bi-weekly) and log changes
- Tie each change to an action you took (page update, new page, internal links, PR mention, refreshed section, etc.)

So you learn what actually moves outcomes

Why “manual” is still the most reliable option (today):

There are a few ways teams track answers.

- Logged-in (paid): The issue is that it’s not the experience most users are in.
- Logged-in (free): This is what most people use and what you usually care about.
- Logged-out: Some premium tools track this. The problem is it’s not what real people see. Answers can look similar, but citations and sourcing can differ a lot, and the model tends to use search differently when logged out.
API: A lot of “visibility tracking” is just API calls. Helpful for testing, but it’s not the same output as the consumer product experience. I wouldn’t treat it as the source of truth for an enterprise reporting loop.

If you’re early, the manual approach is enough.

If you’re later-stage, it’s still worth doing manual checks for a small set of high-value prompts, even if you also use tooling.

We ran ElevenLabs through our AI Search Tracking tool.

This is what the data says.

High-level snapshot

- Visibility Score: 18.9% (rank #1)
- Share of Voice: 3.8% (rank #1)
- Average Position: 5.2

ElevenLabs shows up often across AI answers. More often than any direct competitor in this dataset.

But the interesting part is how that visibility is formed.

Platforms

- Strongest presence on Perplexity and Gemini
- Much weaker coverage on ChatGPT
- Visibility is uneven across models

This usually means the brand is well-represented in sources that models like Gemini and Perplexity lean on, but less embedded in the knowledge patterns ChatGPT tends to surface.

Citations

- Citation share: 2.9% (rank #2)
- 89.4% of citations are not owned
- Top cited domain is YouTube, not elevenlabs.io

Translation: the brand is discussed a lot, but the traffic and authority mostly flow to third-party sources.

There’s a clear opportunity here to:

- Shift more citations to owned pages
- Publish content that models can use

Sentiment

- 33% positive
- 54% mixed
- 0% negative

Most “mixed” responses cluster around:

- Acoustic similarity
- Pronunciation accuracy
- Robustness to input variations

AI systems understand where ElevenLabs is strong, but they also surface edge cases and limitations because those are the patterns they see most often in training data and citations.

Bottom line

ElevenLabs is already winning visibility.

The next step isn’t “more content.”
 
It’s more control:

- Control over citations
- Control over which pages become default references
- Control over how limitations vs strengths are framed in AI answers

This is what AI search optimization actually looks like in practice.

Another year, another ‘SEO is dead’ take.

One of our client blogs grew 4x in 2025.

Context:

- Technical B2B SaaS
- Dual motion (PLG + SLG)
- Mature, competitive category
- Strong brand built through a large open-source community

That last point matters.

A strong brand doesn’t replace good execution, but it lifts almost everything we do across content, SEO, and AEO.

On the input side:

- 50 new content pieces
- 6 content updates

…these led to:

- ~250 organic clicks on weekdays from Minuttia-produced content
- 4M+ organic impressions since the start of the engagement
- Many pages targeting commercial intent terms (alternatives, tools, reviews)
- #2 Visibility Score in AI search for product-related topics
- #2 Share of Voice in AI search for the same topics
- #1 for Citations, with most citations coming from Minuttia-created pages
- New accounts created (PLG) directly attributed to Minuttia’s work
- Attribution from both Google search and AI search traffic

We track this through two proprietary reports:

- a Looker Studio dashboard covering Minuttia-produced content
- internal software for tracking AI search visibility

Where this got interesting:

Building a content strategy for a technical audience.

Software engineers are highly analytical and have zero patience for:

- sales-y positioning
- shallow explanations
- hand-wavy claims

Add the need for:

- technical accuracy
- code snippets that work
- examples that match real-world implementation
 
…and your editorial process needs to be closer to product than marketing.

Same goal throughout: turn organic visibility into attributable signups and pipeline, from both search engines and AI answers.

And honestly, the team is doing an outstanding job.

We ran Ledgy through our AI Search Tracking tool.

This is what the data says.

High-level snapshot

- Visibility Score: 12.2% (rank #1)
- Share of Voice: 4.4% (rank #2)
- Average Position: 2.6 (rank #2)

Ledgy is consistently surfaced across AI answers and ranks at the very top in overall visibility within its competitive set.

But the more interesting part is where that visibility comes from.

Topics

Ledgy performs especially well in:

- Equity management (26.7% visibility)
- Equity compliance (13.3%)
- Employee equity dashboards (13.3%)

Across six core topics, Ledgy ranks #2 in every single one, with strong average positions.

That level of consistency usually signals clear category association, not just brand recall.

Platforms

- Strong visibility on Gemini and Perplexity
- Limited presence on ChatGPT
- Coverage varies by model, not by topic depth

This suggests Ledgy is well represented in sources favored by Gemini and Perplexity, while ChatGPT still defaults more heavily to competitors like Carta for equity-related queries.

Citations

- Citation share: 1.6% (rank #7)
- 91.1% of citations are not owned
- Top cited domains include competitors and third-party platforms

So while Ledgy is frequently mentioned, the authority behind those mentions largely lives elsewhere.

Clear opportunity here to:

- Strengthen owned citation sources
- Publish canonical pages for equity, compliance, and ESOP workflows
- Reduce reliance on competitor-controlled narratives

Sentiment

- 31% positive
- 53% mixed
- 0% negative

Positive sentiment clusters around:

- Audit trail integrity
- Automation capabilities
- Stock-based compensation expense automation

Mixed sentiment mostly relates to:

- ESOP functionality depth
- Compliance and reporting breadth

This isn’t negative perception.

Bottom line

Ledgy is already one of the most visible and discussed platforms in equity management across AI search.

The next phase isn’t about increasing awareness.

It’s about owning the narrative:

- Owning the sources AI systems cite
- Owning how equity and compliance capabilities are framed
- Owning the pages models reuse as defaults

That’s how strong visibility turns into a sustainable AI advantage.
