The past 5 weeks I've been suffering from nasty headaches and double vision. Will you pray for my blood patch appointment tomorrow at 6am?

I woke up 4 weeks ago with debilitating headaches, and after several rounds of doctor appointments, blood work and CT and MRI found

1. I have lymes disease
2. I have a pinhole size leak in my spine, causing my brain to sag, headaches and double vision.

my Pastor at church asked me 2 weeks ago for an update after he saw my prayer request. I mentioned I was trying to see a specialist, and that I was scheduled for January.

he asked if it was a certain neuro opthamologist and I said YES. He knew him.

he sent a text and I saw him the next day and discovered that my problems were likely not lymes but rather the spine leak.

tomorrow I go in for a blood patch at 6am.

3. No more headaches and healed double vision

6 Months ago we marked a moment my son will never forget.

Alongside three other dads and their sons, we celebrated the transition from boyhood to manhood.

Inspired by The Intentional Father by Jon Tyson,
we built a full day of adventure, challenge, and blessing.

→ Sunrise bike ride
→ Hearty breakfast with the dads
→ Time at the gun range
→ All-out paintball battle
→ Knighting ceremony at an overlook in St. Paul
→ And a feast at Fogo de Chão to finish the day

Each dad stood before his son, sword in hand,
and publicly declared,

“You are now entering a new season and chapter, may you trust in the Lord 
With all of your heart, all of your strength and all of your soul”

Now is the time for more young men and women to rise up
→ the journey is just beginning
→ the real work of shaping, praying for and guiding
→ the input from peers, and wise grandparents

But we need more:

More intentionality.
More fathers speaking life.
More moments that mark the shift from child to adult.

Let’s raise sons who know who they are
and daughters who know what kind of man to look for.

This book was a catalyst but the vision was inside.
I want Isaac to know
→ who he is and whose he is
→ who he is becoming
→ and take steps of courage to continue to learn

It doesn’t happen overnight. (This is a season)
I’m not expecting perfection (more will be learned through failure)
I’m going to fail (but we have one to look to who is perfect)

Last weekend showed exactly what true partnership looks like.
 
We hosted our first ever Rise48 Equity  Partner Summit in Scottsdale, AZ, bringing together our incredible capital partners and investors from all over the country.

Here’s my full story:

Age 28: 

Graduated with a degree in music business. Came to the realization that I wasn't going to have a career in music. 

Age 30: 

Decided to get involved in medicine. Worked as a CNA as my first healthcare gig. 

Began school to become an echocardiographer. 

Age 31-35: 

Worked in corporate healthcare and experienced burnout through COVID.

Read Rich Dad Poor Dad and had the ultimate perspective shift around money. 

Bought my first single-family home. Completed my first investment property as a private money lender. 

Age 36: 

Joined a mentorship program to learn about apartment investing. Met my partners through that group. 

Bought my first apartment complex. 

Age 37-39: 

Bought my second, third, fourth and fifth commercial properties through various methods (JV's, Syndications, Co-GP, Fund of Funds). 

Continuing to build our network as we look to enter the next phase of the market cycle.
