- Designed and built a new page template coordinating with 3 partner teams,
integrating in 2 services and managing our own infrastructure.
- Designed and led an iteration with small and CX changes of a 1M daily impressions layout toggle
- Implemented read use case and GDPR compliance for new service supporting high requests/s (20k avg, 45k max)
- Unblocked a project getting wrong business data for 1 month caused by a bug in network retries in another service
- Reduced with an in-memory cache the backend latency of a 1-column mobile layout for hardlines from +2ms to -13ms
- Wrote a postmortem on the importance of finding/asking for clear API specifications of APIs you consume

Most engineers switch tech for the wrong reason

A shiny technology. A faster tool. A new language...

But when you do the numbers, most “upgrades” don't make any sense.

I almost rewrote a Go service to Java because the tooling looked nicer. 

On paper it seemed fine. Then I did the math and the numbers told a different story.

That's because:

↳ Percent gains mean nothing without cost
↳ A rewrite that only helps one repo doesn't scale
↳ You need techniques like two way doors and stop-loss
↳ AI gives speed, but your judgment gives direction

Sunk cost is a real thing on the opposite direction. 

You may need the change, but you don't want to throw away all the work you've done until now.

Most engineers lose goals after a week. 

I did too. What saved me was a ten day tiny experiment.

My three step reset:
1. Pick one outcome you care about.
2. Run a ten minute daily experiment that moves it.
3. Don't break the chain

When to use:
↳ Your SMART goal end abandoned.
↳ Things shifting too fast.

When not to use
↳ The target is fixed and deadline is real.

Experiments rebuild trust fast and keep momentum alive.
