Researched and grew the educational offering from 6 physician only courses in 2 disciplines to 30 courses in 5 disciplines catering to the specific needs of specialist physicians, physicians in training and allied healthcare professionals. Crossroads Education Institute has impacted more than 6,000 delegates in these programs.

Pivoted the face-to-face course offerings to virtual educational events in less than 30 days during COVID-19 lockdown. Delegates from around the world were able to attend programs that were previously inaccessible to them.

Researched, developed, implemented and drove the strategic plan for the organisation. This enabled a number of strategic partnerships to develop extending the reach of the organisation. 

Initiated and grew collaborations with Sandoz and Novartis some of which brought in new unrestricted medical education grants. 

Collaborated with medical societies such as Society of Neurosurgeons of South Africa (SNSA), The South African Spine Society (SASS) and The Cardio Oncology Society of Southern Africa (COSOSA) to research and develop solutions to meet their member's educational needs

Recognised for my contribution to continuing education (CPD) for healthcare professionals by being invited to join The Association for Medical Education in Europe (AMEE) CPD Committee. This ensured that I, and Crossroads Education Institute, was able to connect to a extensive network of worldwide experts and keep up to date with the latest developments in the field

Profiled in a short visual documentary at the 2019 Abbott Vascular EMEA Kick off meeting for the innovative work that Crossroads Education Institute is doing to educate specialist healthcare professionals in Africa. Abbott Vascular was therefore able to reach audiences that would previously have been unreachable

Built the corporate training department from the ground up enabling sales staff to be trained according to business strategies and protocols. This substantially reduced overhead costs.

Researched all disease entities and active ingredients to develop comprehensive training manuals. Sales staff were therefore exposed to the appropriate knowledge required to successfully perform their roles

Facilitated interactive training sessions with a team of 40 sales staff to ensure all new and current employees were adequately trained to be able to effectively engage with their customer base.

Developed and assessed the competency of sales staff following training programs. Members of the sales team were therefore deemed competent in their knowledge and ability to convey key messages to their customer base

Investigated the prescribing trends in the South African pharmaceutical market. This enabled the business to identify the most popular pharmaceutical products to search for as generic molecules from international manufacturers.

Researched patent expiries of the largest pharmaceutical products resulting in the business being able to plan for their future product pipeline and staggering the registering process correctly. 

Advised the business on the latest developments in new indications for current registered pharmaceutical products. This kept the sales team abreast of new potential sales opportunities.

Developed and managed a comprehensive database on all registered South African pharmaceutical products. Team members therefore had information readily available to make key business decisions

Researched, developed and facilitated the ‘Introduction to Anatomy’ course for first year students enrolled for Human Kinetics and Ergonomics 101. Students where able to grasp the basic concepts during this course enabling them to use this as a baseline for more advanced application modules as they moved through the syllabus.

Facilitated the practical hands-on sessions for 1st, 2nd and 3rd year students enrolled in the Human Kinetics and Ergonomics program. These sessions gave students an opportunity to apply their theoretical knowledge into real world situations.

Prepared for and hosted the weekly small group tutorial sessions for Human Kinetics and Ergonomics undergraduate students. The small group sessions gave students a space to explore some of the more complex topics and raise questions from the lecture sessions

Organised and co-ordinated the undergraduate tutor roster ensuring that sessions were distributed equally amongst tutors and students were exposed to the most experienced tutors in the respective sub-disciplines

You can't remember when you last left the office on time. Your family hardly see you. Your diary is jam packed for months at a time.

Until one day you question what this sacrifice is all about. What called you to the industry is no longer enough but after years of overworking, you're not sure what else to do.

That's where I come in. 

I'm a scientist who has more than 15 years experience as a high performer in the high pressured pharmaceutical and medical device industry. I've worked in a challenging middle management role servicing very demanding key opinion leaders. I spent years overworking, driven to deliver the 'perfect' product so healthcare professionals could deliver the gold standard of patient care to someone who may one day be my mother, best friend or colleague. 

I know what it is like to be the last one in the office for nights on end. I've experienced being so tired I didn't know if I can drive myself safely home. I've missed more family events, friends celebrations and funerals than I care to admit. And I know what it is like to hit the wall and realise that overworking just isn't working anymore.

2. 6 Sessions (60 - 90 mins once every 2 weeks): You bring a topic to discuss. I offer some questions and activities to help you explore what is really going on. You identify some actions items to work on. I'm available to support you in between sessions. 

That's it. No judgement. Lots of empathy. An accountability partner to keep you on track. And someone to celebrate every tiny step you make towards building your new life.
