As a Senior Systems Engineer at Netflix, I streamline operations and automation within the Atlassian ecosystem, reducing manual efforts and enhancing efficiency for engineering and operations teams. I oversee incident management, drive cloud transitions, and deliver data-driven dashboards to empower strategic decision-making. By building knowledge bases, enabling integrations, and providing targeted support for major organizational transitions, I ensure that tools and processes align seamlessly with Netflix's dynamic needs.

Jira Cloud Mail Handler (JCMH) - Scaled an existing custom plugin to handle external email intake, replies, comments, and attachments to support many federated Jira sites, streamlining organization-wide communication.

Data-Driven Decisions - Built Global Agile Dashboards using Atlassian Analytics and SQL, enabling actionable insights for thousands of Workforce Engineering users.

M&A Migrations - Developed scalable Python scripts for replicating user identity access (AuthZ) during Atlassian migrations to a central Atlassian Cloud Org.

Cloud SRE - Managed incidents and operational alerts and response runbooks, ensuring reliability with Atlassian tools and support. I disabled hundreds of unused webhooks and cleaned up resource-heavy legacy automation rules.

Jira Custom Plugins - Enhanced feature and operational support for JCMH and the Atlassian API Proxy, a mutual TLS authorization app for secure and seamless integrations of development systems.

Project Godzilla - Led Atlassian Data Center to Cloud migration for over 5000 external partners, ensuring operational continuity.

Sr. Systems Engineer (L5)

As System Engineer for the IT Operations team I act as Technical admin and operator of the Atlassian product suite including Confluence, Jira, and Jira Service Management. As well as liaison for all related plugins and integrations. I plan and implement application upgrades as well as remediate site reliability maintenance and measures. 

I support teams by evaluating and implementing new plug-ins and automation. This includes supporting the design, development, and implementation of integrations with third party applications and custom services. I also maintain user management configuration for SSO and Okta user sync.

I collaborate with end users to design and implement automation rules and scripts to meet agile business requirements. I also participate in end user training and knowledge transfer to reinforce best practices.

I have begun to create automation and modify custom integrations to promote self-service, increase efficiency and productivity, and simplify maintenance and administration for my team.

I respond, troubleshoot, diagnose, and resolve technical issues and bugs. As well as Identify and apply best practices to effectively scale our applications. During the course of my activities I maintain runbooks and related documentation to ensure it is accurate. I look for opportunities to extend the collaboration ecosystem by finding new ways of connecting existing services.

I pair with infrastructure engineers to maintain, extend, and enhance source code for infrastructure and application deployments. This includes participating in on call support of the Atlassian applications and help queues in Slack.

Systems Engineer

As Senior System Administrator, I was responsible for nearly 30 critical applications for Product Development and Delivery teams. My responsibilities ranged from user authorization to integration configuration and support for any issue users may encounter. Most importantly I helped Product teams navigate tough times and difficult engineering requirements with ease.

As a member of the Tools Team I was a site reliability engineer for our Atlassian suite including Jira, Jira Align, StatusPage, Crowd, Confluence, Bitbucket, Bamboo, Fisheye and Crucible. As well as our other Third party SaaS applications including Slack, GitHub, Miro, LucidChart, Asana, Ally.io, BugCrowd, Figma, IntelliJ, JFrog Artifactory, Stoplight.io, NewRelic, and PagerDuty. These responsibilities ranged from new user setup to feature review and promotion as SaaS platforms evolve. I was instrumental in implementing a review board internal to PDD that ensures we meet all acceptance criteria for any integration, add-on or application in our toolset.

In 2019 I served as Scrum Master for the Tools Team and was responsible for Agile activities and managing team scope for each Sprint. This includes triage, backlog review and other sprint and scrum meetings. I also compile a bevy of analytical data related to Sprint metrics.

Worked on DMCS Federal contract with Maximus as a Help Desk Supervisor and later as an Application Administrator.

Acted as a key resource for Executive staff to utilize for IT projects and assignments. My responsibilities ranged from configuration of an office WiFi-DMZ to initializing an internal Help Desk to centralize all our of IT processes. I maintained the server room including the organization of equipment, power efficiency and usage reduction analysis, as well as documentation of server room layout in Visio format.

I also worked to create a Magento marketplace site for the USVI EDA Marketplace. I trained multiple vendors on using the backend portal as well as provided DevOps support for feature configuration and design. I even flexed my CS5 skills on banner and ad design.

Among this work I began contracting with Xerox and Maximus as a subcontractor for the DMCS for the Department of Education.
