2020. did an internship as a marketing strategist in a mental health clinic

2021. got my first international client as a freelancer. worked as an intern at big shot agencies w big shot clients like jio and bridgestone and sap. dropped out of college.

2022. moved to bangalore for 3 months to work at a cool startup as a sales/marketing generalist. decided to specialise in writing. started playing w the gpt 3 of open ai (pre-chatgpt).

2023. used chatgpt and midjourney to create campaigns and content for big pharma companies in india. got scammed of $1500 twice in 6 months. decided to specialise in linkedin personal branding. did linkedin outreach for a big shot brand designer in the uk and commenting for a brand designer in the us. failed at both terribly.

2024. got 2 wins, brand designer and performance marketer got 50k and 30k impressions in 20 days. started a 100 day challenge (twice), failed terribly but made a lot of friends. family member suffered a terrible health problem (shook me for good) and then later i broke my leg and on bed rest for 3 months, both the challenges ended w health tragedies (never taking a 100 day challenge again). convinced my bestf to quit his job and join me. we started an agency, laas (linkedin-as-a-service).

2025. got 2 beta clients. one lawyer in the us who wanted to be consistent and the other was a brand designer who wanted tangible results. 2x engagement for the brand designer and booked 6 calls in a month. lawyer was able to be consistent. its may and we’re starting the free month offer now.

some updates since i disappeared from here

1/ started running an automated outreach campaign on linkedin. has generated more 5-7 leads in a week. got on a call w one, he wants to work in q1 next year, 2 people are yet to book a call, haven't replied to most others

2/ ran out of funds so had to fire the team. 2 of em decided to stay and work for free. so so so grateful for them.

3/ i think we had peaked at some 500k impressions in a month, lost all the progress cause i just didn't post anything for about a month now.

4/ i found a stable solution to my execution / procrastination problem. to have a god level project manager manage everything on my behalf. will be implementing this from tomorrow, lets see how that goes.

5/ been consistently hitting gym for a week and only eating clean. no oil, no processed food. it is a literal personal record for me :)

6/ the content workflows for my linkedin are ready to go live next week

7/ figured a way to consistently make content on ig that others might like. i'll just talk about cool shit i found on the internet. 

8/ i learnt that people still like me on the internet. just cause i vanished for a while doesn't mean i lost all my "unsaid" friends. they still watch me, like me, support me. this has boosted my confidence more than anything.

no client has ever asked me where i went to college.

they don't care about your credentials.
they care about your skills.

in freelancing, there are two ways to prove your worth:

1/ the credentialist

→ they lead with their degree or a list of certifications.
→ they believe their resume is their most valuable asset.
→ they talk about what they've learned in a classroom.

they're selling their past.

2/ the practitioner

→ they lead with a case study or a live example of their work.
→ they believe their results are their most valuable asset.
→ they show what they've done for a real business.

they're selling your future.

one proves they can pass a test.
the other proves they can solve a problem.

stop collecting certificates.
start collecting results.

i just got off a call with a lead. 

she’s been posting videos for months. decent views, but zero engagement from her ideal clients.

she was frustrated. she lacked direction.

so i showed her the simple framework i use.

any business has 3 goals for content. you need to be intentional about which one you are chasing.

here is the breakdown:

1/ you want likes and followers? 

→ tell stories. 
→ stories are universally relatable. 
→ (e.g. an hr rep sharing a story about firing someone goes viral).

2/ you want authority? 

→ share your expertise. 
→ break down exactly how you solve problems. 
→ (e.g. an hr rep showing the 5-step compliance process to fire someone).

3/ you want sales? 

→ talk about wins. 
→ diffuse objections. 
→ make a micro-offer.

most people mix these up. they expect sales from a relatable story. or they expect viral reach from a technical how-to.

when i explained this, everything clicked for her.

ps. what’s your current focus? reach, authority, or sales?

when it comes to ai, most writers are in one of two camps. both are wrong.

1/ the purist

→ they're terrified ai will take their job.
→ they refuse to use it, calling it 'cheating' or 'soulless'.
→ they're falling behind, working slower and less efficiently.

don't be the person who's afraid of the tool.
