I recently completed the 𝗚𝗼𝗼𝗴𝗹𝗲 𝗔𝗜 𝗣𝗿𝗼𝗳𝗲𝘀𝘀𝗶𝗼𝗻𝗮𝗹 𝗖𝗲𝗿𝘁𝗶𝗳𝗶𝗰𝗮𝘁𝗲 from Grow with Google, a newly released program designed to build practical, real-world AI capability. 

The journey involved 7 courses and more than 20 hands-on labs covering AI fundamentals, research, data analysis, content creation, and application development. Through these exercises, I built and evaluated AI-driven solutions and developed applied artifacts that translate AI capability into meaningful operational outcomes.

This experience reinforced a critical discipline: the true value of AI lies not in the model itself, but in knowing where and how to apply it responsibly, reliably, and with measurable impact. As AI becomes foundational to modern architecture and decision-making, strengthening this perspective is essential.

I’m often asked why I still code while leading a technology organization.

To me, this is servant leadership. Staying hands-on helps me understand what my team truly experiences: the constraints, the pressure, and the decisions behind every system. 

It builds trust, and more importantly, empathy. 

Leadership is not just about directing the work; it is about understanding it from within.

That’s why I joined the 𝗚𝗼𝗼𝗴𝗹𝗲 𝗖𝗹𝗼𝘂𝗱 𝗚𝗲𝗻 𝗔𝗜 𝗔𝗰𝗮𝗱𝗲𝗺𝘆 𝗔𝗣𝗔𝗖 𝗘𝗱𝗶𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗛𝗮𝗰𝗸𝗮𝘁𝗵𝗼𝗻, delivered by Google Cloud in collaboration with Hack2skill, this year. I’m glad to have successfully submitted my solution, building a real generative AI system on Google Cloud.

Thanks to Thu Ya K. and Saad Hamid for their inspiring posts that encouraged me to take part in this program.

Staying close to the work allows me to lead with clarity, empathy, and credibility.

Building AI models is technical.
Leading AI products is strategic.

Over the years, my work has been deeply rooted in AI systems, architecture, and technical execution. That foundation turned out to be incredibly valuable during the 𝗔𝗜 𝗣𝗿𝗼𝗱𝘂𝗰𝘁 𝗠𝗮𝗻𝗮𝗴𝗲𝗿 𝗡𝗮𝗻𝗼𝗱𝗲𝗴𝗿𝗲𝗲 from Udacity. 

It allowed me to approach product questions not just conceptually, but with a clear understanding of what is feasible, scalable, and production-ready.

At the same time, the program challenged me to expand beyond architecture. To think more deliberately about product vision, use case prioritization, ethical trade-offs, and ROI-driven decisions. It was less about learning something entirely new and more about strengthening the layer above the technology.

To me, the shift feels subtle, but meaningful.

From building capabilities to shaping direction.
From solving technical problems to owning business outcomes.

AI leadership today requires both depth and discipline. Technical understanding provides the foundation. Product thinking ensures that the foundation creates real and sustainable impact.
