How we built a Google Ads inbound funnel for a brand w/ a $1B valuation 👇

This account was built from scratch.

To take a step back for a second.

I’ve worked on Google Ads for Fortune 500 brands.

GTM (go to market) is a totally different ballgame.

You can’t just send reports and call it a day.

The account was spending $30K-$50K a month in spend.

And generated 10+ MQL’s per week.

With an estimated monthly pipeline of $300K+ (they had long sales cycles).

And was in a highly competitive lead-gen market (multifamily apartments).


These are the 4 steps we took to get there.

1. Keyword testing:
-We tested a ton of keywords in Non-Brand using broad match
-We whittled down our keyword lists based on CPL and CPC thresholds.

2. Lots of creative testing. 
-We tested ads on a weekly cadence
-We qualified the exact type of lead we wanted in the copy.

3. Set up downstream lead tracking by keyword.
-This brand used Netsuite.
-Though I’ve set up integrations w/ Salesforce, etc.

4. Made regular landing page reccos to improve lead quality.
-We qualified for intent on the landing page.
-We had to go through multiple iterations.
-Our focus again was on lead quality and not volume.
