At All News 850, the key to joining a breaking news update from CBS at :31 past the hour, was to have channel 39 patched in correctly.  It was fun to cue traffic from Pete Michaels, while reading the news with Kim Wall.  We carried Reds baseball, and would stay on the air until 11:00 p.m. in July and August.
Not long after I started with BFBR on 6/1/98, I was given about 700 labor cases to look after; one case alone had 700 plaintiffs.  Another part of my job involved obtaining and maintaining visas for the expatriates.  After being promoted to director of the legal division, I continued my studies at USP’s law school.  Studying at São Francisco was a unique and meaningful experience.
Back in Knoxville in September of 2002, I worked for a month at WVLT-TV.  I worked to interview Tennessee’s gubernatorial candidates; we had 15 that year.  Then, it was on to depositions, motions for summary judgment, worker’s comp approvals, Sevier County jury trials, and supper at Captain’s Table on the way back from a roof inspection in Mountain City.  As an aside, did you know Mountain City, Tennessee, is closer to Canada than it is to Memphis?  But I digress.
Our caseload dropped a lot in 2008, 2009 and 2010.  So, I turned five miles to the east of Karns, and asked DeRoyal why they weren’t in Brazil.  After a couple of lunches at Aubrey’s, Michael Iekeler took a chance on a worker’s comp lawyer, and I was on my way to Brazil to sell medical products.  
Doc review in Miami, Charlotte, D.C., Manhattan, and Secaucus was awesome!  I lived on Staten Island and rode the S40 bus and the Staten Island Ferry every day.  A sausage, egg and cheese, with a cup of coffee, while standing outside on the main deck of the Spirit of America, gliding past the Statue of Liberty, with One World Trade Center straight ahead … an inspiring way to start every day.
