Hey, I'm Oliver! Born and raised in the Lake District.

I’m a passionate media commentator talking about Gen Z, mental health, politics and young people in business.

Back in 2020, at the age of 16, I decided the PR industry needed a shake-up. 

That's when I started Platinum Live.

- Translated press releases regarding Coronavirus updates from the City Council and appointment letters to English, ensuring effective communication and citizen awareness during challenging times.
- Provided translation services for mayoral election materials.

- Managed accounts including quoting, placing jobs, text analysis, invoicing, and handling queries, and complaints.
- Conducted detailed QA checks and formatted translated files (Word, Excel, InDesign).
- Developed client leads and recruited new linguists and VO artists.
- Produced blog content for social media and conducted competitor analysis.

- Secured and coordinated appointments for international guests with high-end companies to build strong international partnerships.
- Strengthened international relations by interpreting on behalf of guests and companies to ensure clear communication.

Every week, I volunteer with Girlguiding.

I work with a brilliant group of girls who are all different and finding their way.

 Some are confident. Some are quiet. Some don’t quite believe in themselves yet.

And I get to watch them grow.
To see them speak up when they were once silent.
To try new things, take the lead, and help each other.

It’s honestly the best part of my week.

And what’s surprised me the most is how much I’ve grown, too:
→ I’ve become more patient
 → I listen better
 → I’m more open

You don’t need to join an organisation to make a difference.

 Just look around.

There’s always someone who could use a bit of time, care, or encouragement.

Helping others doesn’t require anything extraordinary, just the decision to show up for them.
