Hey, I'm Oliver! Born and raised in the Lake District.

I’m a passionate media commentator talking about Gen Z, mental health, politics and young people in business.

Back in 2020, at the age of 16, I decided the PR industry needed a shake-up. 

That's when I started Platinum Live.

Maintaining relationships with major account holders through liaising on a daily basis to assist with activation and delivery of Sportplans service. Proactively and assertively resolving client issues and requirements to ensure the satisfaction of all parties while representing the voice of the customer in product development meetings.

Went beyond my initial job description by taking a key interest in social media, I put in place more robust tracking and planning structures, made creative content which was consistent with the companies brand identity and started a new Instagram page specific to Rugby which grew well over my placement.

Loughborough University

Acted as the first point of contact for prospective sports management students during university open
days. Demonstrated my communication skills as I could notice a change in outlook and enthusiasm
of many students and parents following discussions.

Through sharing my experiences and opinions I utilised my communication skills to promote the
university by advising prospective students regarding the specific course and the University itself.

Sport management Embassador

Loughborough Sport

The heads of Loughborough Sport required the Holywell fitness centre to be redesigned and
recruited a small team to analyse the existing facility, research the current gym market in
Loughborough to find out what was wrong with the current facility strategy. It was required to
formulate a redevelopment plan and make presentations and recommendations to Loughborough
Sport management to enable the Gym to be upgraded for the 2019-2020 academic year.

Developed team working, creativity and analytical skills, as well as gaining experience collaborating
with stakeholders and understanding the feasibility of various planning approaches and how they
align to the wider Loughborough University vision.

Development and Design of Holywell Fitness Centre

Organising and running a large rugby tournament hosted at Loughborough University. The role
included developing a risk assessment, event map and event schedule. In addition to liaising with
stakeholders and participants to ensure everything worked efficiently for the event.

Stimulated a strong interest in problem solving within an organisational setting. Developed spontaneous problem solving skills and resolve. For example, managing fixture
alterations when a team didn’t arrive on the day.

Volunteer for Running a National Rugby Sevens Qualifier

Lido Gym 

Work experience at a new gym in China. Assisting in gym and fitness classes. Spin class instructing and giving help and advice to gym members

Working within the fitness centre providing customer service, taking bookings for classes & appointments, registering new members, conducting pool water tests and general cleaning
