As CEO, I set the strategy and vision for this debt collection company by building an offshore call center in Jamaica to create a competitive advantage in the industry. I managed our capital resources, allocating resources appropriately to allow for incremental growth and financial stability.

I joined M&T Bank as a Fiscal Manager, assigned to work with Westminster Community Charter School, the bank's K-8th grade charter school in Buffalo. I was responsible for maintaining the school's sound financial management, which included payroll, recordkeeping, financial reporting and analysis.

As part of my payroll management responsibilities, I managed the entire school payroll program and approved biweekly payroll submissions. This involved understanding the nuances of four union contracts and being able to correctly apply compensation, benefits, and retirement schemes to all of the school's employees.

I organized and recorded the school's financial transactions and managed its cash accounts. I used our financial information to conduct financial and programmatic analyses of school operations for school administration. 

I prepared financial reports and other ad hoc reports for our school's CEO and Board of Directors. I also assisted our grant writers in preparing and presenting financial reports for grants.

The school had been one of the worst performing public schools in the city, and with the bank's involvement, turned itself around.
