Ogrodje is a Slovenian tech/dev podcast and a community. Our mission is to share the experience, deepen the knowledge and empower the technology enthusiast and professionals.

We started Ogrodje with the idea to give something back and help elevate the quality and know-how about the technology in the region.

In November 2022, Ogrodje became the number 1. tech podcast in the region on Apple Podcasts.

Pollpass is distributed real-time engine and platform for modern market research. It is capable of surveying thousands of respondents globally and feed the information into GlobalWebIndex its partners and clients.

Databox is a mobile-first business analytics platform built to help you understand what's going on with your business. Create your own unique mobile dashboards, with many supported visualization types (line, bar, pie charts, funnels, tables, ...), present your data on your office TV, and collaborate and discuss around your metrics with others via Slack.

While working for Databox I was responsible for Databox Connect Platform; built with Node.js a RethinkDB. Bundled with Docker and Swarm; hosted on AWS.

I'm also the author of Databox SDKs for Ruby, Python and Go and co-author of SDKs for Java and PHP.

Senior Software Engineer

SNAGR

SNAGR is music artists search engine. It seeks on 12+ different streaming/video/music sites for artists. The sites are searched in parallel and results are on-the-fly combined, ranked and sorted to give user readable and understandable overview. SNAGR was acquired by WbSrch.com in March 2016 and is now known as musicsrch.com.

MUBI

MUBI is an online cinema and social network that gives the latest news on films and awards from all around the world. I've joined MUBI as a freelance contractor. During my time with MUBI I've implemented ElasticSearch, helped with recommendation engine, scheduler, API and 3rd party integrations.

Fika is mobile startup and app founded by Robert Farazin (Y-Combinator, Techstars) in 2013. Fika provides simple, fast and pretty way to organise casual events with your friends. My role as CTO was to build and lead a team of  mobile developers while working on architecture and backend. Stack was Ruby / Rails, Android, iOS, Scrum and CI.

As a senior project manager I was responsible to implement SI-PASS (a tool for verifying the identity of Slovenian citizens) and IJPP (uniform ticket in public transport of the Ministry of Infrastructure of Slovenia) into web pages for public transport in Slovenia. Because of very short timeline that was quite a challenge but it was realized in time!
I was also responsible for a project "park&ride" for municipality of Kamnik. Main goal was to make user friendly online platform, which will be in use in parking machine near railway station in Kamnik. Platform was also connected with chargers for electric cars.

Main purpose of this project was to gather all of the Slovenian municipalities news in one place and offer them the tool to create a magazine in physical form in only with a few clicks. What I have learned in this project? The point is in the details!

About this role I can say just Wow! That was my first big project on which I was Head of development and I have learned everything about how important UX is and why code+SQL+DB optimmizations are cruiccal! Wer have dveloping with SPHINX(awesome!), PHP and MYSQL, for UX we have worked with top Slovenian companies and individuals. What I have remembered the most? That we spent more than 2 weeks for UX  for a POP-UP with which we were colecting e-mails.
