When I go back to the UK now: ↳ The safety I take from granted in Dubai doesn’t feel the same in the UK ↳ The convenience of living I experience in the Dubai makes the UK feels 10 years behind.
 
And best of all? Everyone seems happy and optimistic here.

In 2017, my best friend moved to Dubai.
 
That’s when I thought, “why not?”
 
At the time I was working at Google in Dublin.
 
When I was up for promotion or a team switch (not a career switch), I started searching internal roles based in Dubai.
 
They were all jobs I wouldn’t really have been good at, nor did I really want.
 
Then I realised I was doing it the wrong way around.
 
I shouldn’t pick the place first and then force the job.
 
I could find the right job, and then pick the place.
 
In 2017, I decided to quit Google and launch my own startup.
 
One of the main reasons was because I wanted more freedom.
 
It wouldn’t be until 2020 until I went to Dubai, and then in 2022 I moved permanently.
 
Entrepreneurship is super hard, but one thing I’ll never take for granted is the freedom it gives you.

Even with all the craziness going on here, I'm happy.

I bet four years of my life on one idea.
It collapsed in six months.

I was at Google working with some of the fastest-growing agencies in EMEA.

It was my first job out of university.
But I was restless, so I left to build my own thing.

We built a web agency, and the feast-or-famine cycle was brutal:

7 red flags you should NEVER ignore in go-to-market
(Seriously, these are important)

Most sales teams do these things all the time.

They tell themselves:
“It’s fine.”
“We’ll fix it later.”
“We just need better copy.”

That usually leads to:

If you see these patterns, don’t ignore them.

Act early or stay stuck.

7 Red Flags in Cold Outbound

How we find a decision-maker’s email 80% of the time
 
Do this to drive more leads…
 
Getting into someone’s inbox is an endless game of cat and mouse.
 
So you need to know all the tips and tricks to win the game.
 
Here are three things I see over and over again, which people do which they need to stop if they want to land in more inboxes:
 

❌ Problem: They rely on Apollo, but most of the emails aren’t verified (and it’s incredibly expensive unless you’re on an enterprise plan).
 
✅ Solution: Use AI ark. It’s very similar to Apollo, miles cheaper, and on export it verifies emails using BounceBan.
 
🏁 Result: Around 70% coverage straight away, with your sender reputation protected.
 

❌ Problem: They stick with one provider and stop there, leaving coverage on the table.

Step 2: Extract the “Connections” file 
• Open the archive 
• Locate the file called “Connections.” 
• This is your full connections database

Step 3: Upload it into Clay

Three reasons why this outbound campaign worked:

1️⃣ A ridiculously strong offer
Our client had a genuine try-before-you-buy offer.

You can’t just say, “We do this, let’s jump on a call?”, It never works.
Your marketing needs skin in the game.

You need a “cold email-ready” offer.

2️⃣ A two-pronged list strategy that created demand

One list was highly targeted:
→ Companies our client already knew had a clear use case.
The second list was broader:
→ Leaving it open for the recipient to connect the dots and invent the use case.

3️⃣ Slightly unconventional channels

Our client was travelling to a hotspot where their ideal customers are usually based.

6 skills every head of sales should know.
(especially in 2026)

If I had to give only one piece of advice, it would be:

A head of sales does not need to become the operator. But they do need to understand the systems well enough to stop the team burning pipeline through bad or faulty setups

Here’s the guide:

90% of Apollo scrapers are dead.
But you can still pull decision-maker contacts for $2 per 1000.

Here's how.
Apollo has, for a long time, been the best tool for prospecting.

But it charges an arm and a leg sometimes; we’ve seen clients quoted $80 per 1000 rows.

So loads of Apollo scrapers popped up to get around the subscription costs.

A lot of sales teams, trying to save a penny or two, used these third-party scrapers instead.

In the last 6 months, they cracked down hard.

Most of the scrapers that used to work became unreliable overnight.
You’d be waiting a day or two just to get data back.

We tested everything. Some worked for days, then died. Others had terrible coverage or cost more than Apollo itself.

Here's where most creators fail: they overcomplicate it.

The same things work over and over and over again because human psychology doesn't change.
That’s why point number 1 works. Treat content as a science.

Once you understand that, the game becomes much simpler:
→ Post consistently to improve your chances of a viral hit 
→ Whatever worked for you previously can work again, so do it

➡️ 3. Use engagement groups strategically

Most people ignore them (I don’t use them much). But they still work.

I still see plenty of creators using them effectively:
→ Find engagement groups within your industry 
→ Ask people in your niche where the active ones are 
→ Stay consistent with them over time

➡️ 4. Spend time studying what is going viral

Most people scroll LinkedIn passively, but you should do it with more intent:
→ See what topics are going viral right now 
→ Identify patterns in the posts getting traction (e.g., hook, topic) 
→ Repurpose those topics with your own angle

Again: science, not art.
