Building MAD Social Agency, a modern remote digital marketing agency. 

Our marketing theory: Brand is what people say about you when you’re not in the room.

As the Founder/ CEO of MAD Social Agency with over 10 years of experience in content creation, I am building a team that helps businesses grow their digital presence with inventive and effective social media marketing strategies. 

Marketing is about people, not platforms. 

By understanding human psychology, we create strategies that resonate deeply and drive real impact.

I started MAD Social in 2020 as a side hustle, and since then, I have built a team of 25 and a portfolio of over 350 clients, ranging from personal brands to small businesses.

My entrepreneurial journey started at 13 when I direct messaged over 150 businesses my fashion designs and landed a Fashion Designer internship at 13, designing 6 "Maddie Collections" with the brand Triple Flip. 

In high school myself and 6 others for a school project created a successful clothing brand that quickly gained popularity across 4 provinces, I bought each founder out for $20 each after the "project" was done. 

This early success paved the way for MAD Social Agency, where I continue to innovate and lead in an industry that often lacks female representation. I also pursued a degree in Environmental Design at the University of Manitoba, where I learned to apply architectural principles and methods to solve complex problems... most of all grit. 


Building a remote agency has allowed MAD to attract top talent and provide flexible, effective solutions for our clients. We are the definition of a flex work environment. Rule #1 of MAD is "Get stuff done on time, while #2 is "Get stuff done well" and we don't care when or where you do it. 

My story is about leveraging creativity, determination, and harnessing grit from people who did not believe in me and dropping out of architecture school to run MAD full-time in 2021. 

My goal is to empower and inspire others to pursue their dreams and redefine success in the digital arena, regardless of their background or starting point. 

I believe that with innovation and perseverance, anything is possible.

I am so excited about this one.

We just kicked off a new project with Let’s Eat in the Cayman Islands.

This one has been in the works for a while.
We’re rebuilding their entire social presence, and we’re also in the middle of a full rebrand that isn’t live yet.

The social launch just went out, and seeing everything come together has been one of those moments where you sit back and think...
ok
this is really happening.

What I love most about this project is how collaborative it’s been.
The team over there cares so deeply about their community, their customers and the experience they’re creating.

It makes our job so much easier when the vision is strong on both sides.

I can’t wait to bring the brand world to life next.
This one is special.

Most brands are way too focused on looking busy online and not nearly focused enough on building something people actually want to watch.

I see it all the time.

Posting five times a week.

 Cute captions.
 
A couple reels tossed in to feel productive.
And somehow… it still feels flat.

Here’s what I’ve learned doing this every single day:

You can publish content.

 But that doesn’t mean you’re directing attention.

If your content doesn’t make someone stop for a second or feel something or think a little deeper or want to do something next…

It’s noise.

 Even if it’s pretty noise.

I'm obsessive about making content that actually moves people.

So here’s the simplest rule I use and it works every time:

Would you stop scrolling for it?

If the answer is no the audience won’t either.

Emotion Causes Action

In 2022, I almost lost my entire business before it ever really started.

We had clients.
We had momentum.
We had a brand name I loved.

Then I got a legal letter.

 Turns out someone else had trademarked the name I was using.
 
And they weren’t asking nicely.
 
Everything felt like it was falling apart.

 But here’s what I’ve learned:

 When it feels like the end it’s usually the start of something way bigger.

 Sometimes the mess is just the rebrand in disguise.

It cam crashing down

👀 Something’s coming.

The biggest offer we’ve ever dropped.
And no, I’m not telling you what it is yet.

The embarrassing things we do as marketers to make Black Friday happen. 😅

Standing in the middle of downtown pointing at imaginary text while people walk by?
Yeah… that’s part of the job.

But that’s the thing about marketing, you’ve got to be willing to look a little ridiculous sometimes to make something that works.

This week’s been full of chaos, caffeine, and creative ideas that sounded insane at first… until they weren’t.

Wouldn’t trade it for anything though.

We’ve been planning this Black Friday campaign for weeks.

Late nights.
Early mornings.
Too many coffees to count.

And honestly… it tested us.

There were moments where things didn’t line up.
Creative changes.
Last-minute ideas.
Full reshoots.

But that’s the part people don’t see.

The mess before the magic.

Because when launch day finally hits..  every bit of chaos felt worth it.

We’re not waiting for launch day because honestly I never wait for anything

I get too excited and this Black Friday drop has been in the works for MONTHS so of course I’m already out here posting about it

Taping up posters, rolling out content, and dropping hints like I didn’t just spend weeks saying
“we’ll wait to announce it properly”

We tried but the energy was too good and spots already started filling before we even dropped the offer

So yeah
this is your early warning
the pre-launch noise is already happening
the campaign is going to be wild
