If Eli Goldratt was alive today, I'm pretty sure he'd tell you that the rate at which you're able to generate code matters IF AND ONLY IF that rate is:
- lower than the rate at which your team is able to review code AND
- lower than the rate at which your team is able to integrate it in their mental model ("how does this change fit into my understanding of the rest of the system") AND
- lower than the rate at which your team is able to deploy code AND
- lower than the rate at which your team is able to release code AND
- lower than the rate at which your team is able to experiment AND
- lower than the rate at which customers are able to find it valuable AND
- lower than the rate at which your team is able to generate ideas...
