She loved learning

A queer student told me,
“I don’t think Europe is for someone like me.”

Didn’t plan it
But it opened something

Last week
My mentee, the one who whispered her dream -
submitted her application
She hit “send” with shaking hands
I did too

The last six months have been messy, emotional, and unexpectedly grounding

I started The Growth Collective for one reason
To help queer youth in India apply for fully funded Master’s programs
(Erasmus Mundus & more)
without shrinking who they are

The plan was simple
→ build a safe community
→ bring in global mentors
→ map scholarships clearly
→ launch the first cohort quietly

Reality looked more like

Day 1: A 2-hour call with a student doubting she belonged in global spaces
Day 57: Conversations with NGOs across the country
Day 89: Co-creator dialogues turning into real partnerships
Day 95: British Council India showing interest
Day 110: Global mentors joining from multiple time zones
Day 120+: Still building, still listening, still learning

Hi, I'm David , a Former Deputy Secretary General at the Office of International Programs at Hindu College, University of Delhi, and an alumnus of Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalaya (JNV) and the Dakshana Foundation. I'm also a proud fellow of the Aspire Leaders Program at Harvard University and a visiting scholar at the John Locke Institute, Oxford.
As a current Project Consultant, I focus on leveraging cross-functional team leadership and effective communication to achieve strategic outcomes. My passion for mentoring shines through in my role as a Mentor at Project EduAccess, where I empower students by sharing knowledge and guidance. My educational journey, which includes an undergraduate honors degree in philosophy from the University of Delhi, has shaped my commitment to social impact and academic excellence.
With three years of volunteer and representative work, outstanding performance in internships and research, and expertise in Microsoft Office, Canva, graphic design, and foundational coding languages like C++, I am poised to make meaningful contributions to public policy and education. My areas of interest include philosophy, with a focus on social justice studies.

In my spare time, I enjoy watching movies, traveling, and indulging in my love for chai. I'm always looking to connect with like-minded individuals who share a passion for social impact and academic growth.
