Oversaw various operational projects from inception to completion, as well as piloted deployment of retail management software to enhance efficiency and productivity.

My mom was diagnosed with leukemia in 2004 and was given five years to live.
That was 21 years ago.

When I was 14 I asked her if she ever got scared about anything, she said:

“My worst fear has already come true: I have cancer.
I’m not going to let small things scare me anymore.”

That sentence has echoed in my mind for years.
Whenever I’ve faced challenges, uncertainty, or fear of failure, her words remind me that courage isn’t the absence of fear. It’s perspective.

Today, her oncologist said she’s officially 🌟 NED: No Evidence of Disease 🌟 
After 21 years, she beat the odds.

This isn’t just about surviving cancer.
It’s about refusing to live in fear.

Here’s to every person fighting something hard right now: keep going.
You never know how long your miracle has been in the making.

I wasn’t a cool operator.
I wasn’t airborne.
I didn’t have some “sexy” job.

I was a 91B mechanic.
I fixed Humvees.

But I raised my hand.
When asked what I would do to become an American citizen, I said I would serve.

There are many who went before, during, and after me who gave more than we can ever imagine.

Today isn’t about rank or job titles.
It’s about the choice to serve.

Happy Veterans Day to my brothers and sisters out there.
And thank you to my wife and daughter, who stood by me through it all.

This has been one of the hardest years of my life.
Legal stress, medical scares, immigration delays, and losing two grandparents — one on Thanksgiving day — all landed at once.

But if this year taught me anything, it’s that gratitude is not pretending everything is fine.
Gratitude is choosing what deserves your focus so you can keep moving forward.
It is a discipline, not a mood.

And when I zoom out, there is a lot worth choosing.

My daughter is having an incredible year in elite cheer and lit up the stage in Matilda.
My wife is healthy after a difficult season.
My mother was cleared of leukemia.
My family is still standing, still laughing, and still building something together.

I’m thankful for that.
And I’m thankful for the people I get to work alongside every day.
This year brought pressure in ways most people will never see, but my team showed up with ownership, resilience, and trust. They made the hard days easier, and the good days possible.

As leaders, we don’t always get to choose the weight we carry.
But we do choose where we place our attention, and how we show up for the people who count on us.

This year clarified what matters.
Presence is leadership.
Focus is leadership.
Gratitude is leadership.

60% of marketing teams are piloting or scaling AI.
Only 1 in 3 have a roadmap.

That stat from Carol-Lyn Jardine says everything about where we are with AI in marketing.

Most teams are experimenting with the tools.
Very few are rethinking the system.

Without a roadmap, AI becomes a patchwork of pilots. A dozen disconnected experiments that never move the business forward in a meaningful way.

Carol-Lyn shared a great framework for AI fluency that really stuck with me. It isn’t about prompts or hacks. It’s about leadership.

Frame the work: Break problems into pieces AI can actually solve.

Guide the loop: Know when to refine, restart, or redirect.

Check the work: Catch errors quickly and confirm quality.

Feed the context: Give AI the inputs it needs to perform.

Route the task: Decide what belongs to humans, AI, or both.

Experimentation without direction burns time and energy.
Strategy turns it into progress.

The teams that win with AI won’t be the ones using it first.
They’ll be the ones using it with purpose.

From the series: My 11-year-old out-hustles me.

She got up at 6 a.m. on a Saturday (which is a miracle on its own), performed at a showcase, came home, and still spent nearly two hours practicing her back handspring.

I wanted to relax. But how could I, watching her put in extra hours chasing something she loves?

Kids have a way of teaching us unexpected lessons.
I’m thankful to be learning from mine.

Some leaders respond to problems with curiosity.
Others respond with blame.

The difference shows up fast.

A high performing team does not need someone looking over their shoulder. They need someone who builds confidence, gives direction, and removes fear so people can do their best work.

Every team hits bad days. Every campaign swings.
What matters is how leaders respond in those moments.

Real leadership is not asking “who dropped the ball.”
Real leadership is asking “how can I empower you to solve this fast and not repeat it.”

People stay loyal to the leaders who trust them.
And they burn out under the ones who do not.

Leadership is a choice. Every day.
