In NYC this week 🗽 and Miami 🌴 next week working on a fun an exciting new project (subtle not so subtle hint in photo). It’s humbling and incredibly energizing to learn something new and put yourself outside your comfort zone.

I’m pretty stubborn, and question if it’s a strength or a weakness.

Over the holidays, I tried skiing for the first time. In my 40s. To be fair, I expected: embarrassment, a few falls, sore muscles, and that awkwardness that everyone around you knows what they’re doing while you very much do not.

The bunny hill went better than expected (yay). I made it down several times without falling or breaking anything. I thought: I’m a natural! I can go bigger!

I heard there was a lodge at the top of the mountain, so I got on the chairlift for the first time, ate lunch, took in the view, and felt oddly proud of myself for even being up there.

Then I clipped back into my skis and looked down.

It was immediately clear this was nothing like the gentle slope I had practiced on. Every time I tried to start down, I landed on my ass. And every time I fell, getting back up felt harder, slower, and more exhausting than the last. After fall 4,354, my muscles were giving in  (if you’ve ever had to get up in skis, it’s not fun).

That was the moment that got me. Standing there, watching the daylight fade, realizing I wasn’t going to make it down the way I had planned. Not because I didn’t want to, but because I just couldn’t. I remember unclipping my skis and feeling this mix of disappointment, relief, and something close to sadness, like I was admitting defeat.

So I walked the rest of the way down. Step by step, in ski boots, with my shins screaming, but also feeling strangely clear headed. By the time I reached the bottom, I could barely walk, but I didn’t feel regret. I felt grateful. Grateful that I tried. Grateful that I didn’t turn back earlier just to stay comfortable. Grateful that I got to enjoy the view and the exercise.

So yes, I’m stubborn. Some people call that conviction. I could have stayed in the lodge where it was warm and easy, but that day reminded me that growth rarely shows up looking graceful. That often, the trip is never what you expect it to be. Sometimes it looks like walking down a mountain in ski boots after admitting you’re not ready yet, and choosing to keep going anyway.

A little nervous to post "unfinished" work, but just created my first AI short film - and did in just 1 day (which means you can, too).

🎬 MR. AUTHENTIC is a psychological horror-comedy about modern marketing, vulnerability, and what happens when “being real” starts to turn against you.

It’s not perfect. You’ll notice the AI tells. I could’ve spent hours fine-tuning it, but the goal here was to learn fast and ship.

It was fun. A little uncomfortable. And now I want to make the next one.

So yeah. Now onto 2026.

I miss the old internet. Back when it was treasure hunt instead of algo’s telling you what to care about.

The internet felt smaller, but weirdly more vast.

You could stumbleupon the wildest things, or hamster dance your way into corners you absolutely should not have been visiting from the school library.
